Name: Mossanaire
Race: High Elf
six: Male
Class: Arcane Assassin
Bio: My Altmer used to be a member of the Thalmor and was caught attempting to return to the Summerset Isle to report to his commanding general. After narrowly escaping his execution at Helgen, Mossanaire attempted to contact fellow Thalmor agents. They had reported that he was branded as a traitor and was no longer welcome in the Summerset Isle. Surely he had been framed somehow. He didn't know what was going but he knew one man who surely would: Ancano. He traveled north of Skyrim to the College of Winterhold. After easily gaining entrance with his superior magicka skills he confronted Ancano concerning his exile, Ancano was surprised to learn of his fortuitous survival and one can say he even seemed disappointed.. Ancano informed the Mossanaire that the higher ups have called for his execution due to his political ties. He coerced Mossanaire to work for him as an underling if he wanted his status reverted back as a Thalmor. Mossanaire then worked for Ancano for several months before realizing that he was never going to return to his homeland. Once Ancano had exhausted all usefulness of Mossanaire he had attempted to murder him. After a grueling battle, Ancano was gaining the upperhand, so Mossanaire quickly fled before losing his life. He had fainted outside near the outskirts of Winterhold. Luckily Brelyna, from the college, aided him from the college without Ancano's knowledge. He figured the Thalmor were a bunch of scum and no longer wished any part of their dictating organization. So he joined the Companions in sought of women, mead, and kinship. While on a contract for the Companions, he met a mysterious fellow named Brynjolf and got himself mixed up in the Thieves Guild. After doing a favor for them, he was quickly disgusted by how cowardly and unsightly they truly were. As soon as the job was done, Mossanaire immediately cut all ties with the Thieves Guild. After excelling through the ranks of the Companions, Mossanaire grew quite fed up with the brutish nature of the Companions. There were brawls day in and day out.,Vilkas would always eat his meals in a rude and wolfish manner, Farkas' hygiene rivaled his stupidity, and Aela never showered. Frustrated with the buffoons, Mossanaire left the company of the Companions and later ventured off on his own. After a run in withen Sam Guevenne, Mossanaire was conned of every last septim he had. He had resorted to serving the Thieves Guild to avoid starvation. After getting back on his feet financially, he abandoned the putrid Ragged Flagon. During his misadventures with the Thieves Guild, he had acquired a property in Solitude, known as Proudspire Manor. This was where he performed the black sacrament. He called upon the night mother and swore revenge on Ancano. Apparently, Ancano's death had costed Mossanaire more than he could pay back. Nazir offers him an proposition. Work for the brotherhood in exchange for his life. Mossanaire is then promptly dragged into doing the Dark Brotherhood's bidding. And so the legend unfolds as Mossanaire, the Listener, journeys to repay his debt to the Dark Brotherhood.

And that's all I got so far. I simply just love immersing myself whenever playing Skyrim. :tes:

I started a new character recently. Her name is Rostara Horse-Thief, and she is a Nord who's only goal right now is to help Ulfric become High King. She grew up in Dawnstar, joining the Stormclaoks after her parents died. That's all I have so far.

With my newest character I decided to roleplay more and play "immersively" (eating, sleeping, little fast travel, etc.) as well as playing Dead is Dead. However, I'm not going to be doing the main quest at all. Instead, I'm giving my character his own personal main quest, the search for his father. I'm going to do other quests too, obviously, but I'm going to build up his main quest through roleplaying and questing, we'll see how far he gets before he dies. XD I'm curious if anyone else is doing this sort of thing. If so, I'd like to hear about it. Post some info about your character and quest.

Name: Tamrin
Age: 20ish
Race: Half Redguard half Nord (Redguard in game)
Class: Warrior/Hunter (Light armor, axe, dagger, shield, bow)
Pic (You can't really tell from the pic, but his skin's a bit light for a Redguard and his hair has a goldish tint):
http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/4972/screenshot16b.png

Story: (Note: I'm not a lore buff, so don't yell at me if this drags the lore in the mud.)
Tamrin is a bit of an oddity, a half Nord half Redguard. Tamrin's father was a decently succesful merchant in Hammerfell. His mother was a poor Nord servant who his father had a brief affair with. As soon as Tamrin was born, his mother was dismissed from her servitude by Tamrin's father and left Hammerfell, Tamrin doesn't remember her at all. Tamrin's father raised the child for a while, but couldn't stand the constant reminder of his affair. Tamrin was sent off to live with an aunt and his father remarried. Shortly after, his father moved and remarried. Tamrin didn't hear much about him, but apparently he had been sailing between Hammerfell and Solstheim, peddling his wares. Shortly before Tamrin reached advlthood, his father moved to Skyrim. Tamrin, now a young advlt, resolved to find his father. He traveled across Hammerfell to Skyrim, but got caught crossing the border and was brought to Helgen to be executed along with some Stormcloaks. However, he managed to escape to Riverwood and has now resumed his quest for his father.

People who've explored Skyrim sufficiently may be able to figure out who I'm intending his father to be.

Just something you might wanna know, the race of the child comes from the mother ;) Nice story though.

My character escaped with his family from Rihad when the Thalmor invaded, though became shamed for abandoning the House of Rihad in favor of saving their own skins. They later too refuge in Taneth where the war soon followed them and they were betrayed by one of their own and Kurush's family was slain in the aftermath. He then fled to Cyrodiil only to encounter more war and strife and shortly after the war he attempted to escape in to Skyrim where he was captured and sent to Helgen. He now travels the roads working as a shammed Ronin with no house to serve, though he's done very well for himself.

Name: Gaius Galerius Maximus
Race: Imperial
Birthdate: Day and Month unknown, Year 178 of the 4th Era.
Specializations: One-Handed, Block, Heavy Armor, Smithing, practiced Speech for 3 months.
Background: Descended from a legion general that disappeared in the northern part of Vvardenfell, Gaius (or Caius as his mother had written) joined the Imperial Army at the age of 19. For the three years he served Gaius grew to resent the Thalmor. He deserted when the news of his father's death by Thalmor agents reached him. Gaius was caught crossing the border into Skyrim and was led to Helgen for his execution.
Personal Quest: His father's death by the hands of the Thalmor prompted Gaius to start his own personal quest to avenge his father. Vowing to kill every High Elf he would see, Gaius set out on a journey, starting with the north.

Background Expanded: Gaius has committed several atrocities during his service in the Army. When sent to a village in response to bandit raids, Gaius killed several prisoners due to believing them to be worthless. The next day his superior officer demanded that the person responsible confess. After a long silence, his closest cousin Septimius took the blame.
When Gaius deserted, he wished to be absolved of his past deeds by travelling north, to Skyrim.

Here's my character:

Gawan grew up in a nightmarish set of circumstances in High Rock, his sister running away from the abuse long ago. Eventually, he sought to try and track her down after recieving a series of disturbing visions. Little did he know that he was "touched" by the Daedric Princes and destined to be Listener of the Dark Brotherhood, destined to be reunited with his sister Astrid (who always called him "brother" when they were alone). He was only a young man of eighteen at the start of the game but a promising hedge mage who ended up nearly executed by the Empire - which caused him to believe he could do ANYTHING to survive.

However, his reunion with Astrid was not a happy one as his willingness to join the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild was an initial plan that was troubled by the discovery he was the Dragonborn. His entire life he'd never known anything but cruelty and betrayal from those around him yet the Way of the Voice changed him and he learned of pride and sacrifice from Paarthurnax. Later, he learned the Companions that one CAN be a monster but achieve redemption.

Slaying the Emperor and losing his sister, he cast aside his elements of thievery and murder to become a wizard-warrior of great power who achieved redemption slaying the monstrous Alduin. There, his victims forgave him (notably Nilsine Shatter-spear). The Dragonborn is a figure who has passed from darkness and through light.

While not a "good" man, he is perhaps the champion that Cyrodil needs.

There are no 'alternate start' mods out yet, as those require the CK to make.

You don't need a mod for an alternate start.

Just add SStartingCell= (I use AbandonedPrison01) to the Skyrim.ini file.

It bypasses the start menu and drops a character in the location. All you have to do then is type 'showracemenu' in the console and customize your character, save, and go. I also like to use 'player.removeallitems' before customizing my character just so I start naked and have to forage for some starter equipment.

Side effect: No main quest or dragons. It's cool to see Helgen before it was destroyed, however.

Just remember to remove the line above from Skyrim.ini or you'll begin a fresh character every time you start the game.

My characters name is Jynx "a wood elf " . She and her brother were captured by the Imperials , but when the Dragon attacked my brother was killed .
I vowed to destroy the Dragon and the damn Imperial empire . Dead is dead and no enchants since Jynx is a self made warrior type. Its a tough road
and I run away alot to survive to fight another day " un-leveler mod " but I enjoy the thrill of adventure and the threat of death thats always waiting down the next road .

That's pretty awesome, thanks. The lack of main quest is actually pretty nice. I don't plan on doing it with one of these sort of characters anyway, so it'll be nice to not have it sitting in my journal.

@Lunardemon: I like the idea of not always fighting everything you see. I may install a slower leveling mod and do something similar.

@Charlemagne: Nice one. I like how you added your own twists to the existing quests.

@Mclericp: His father and his new family are
Spoiler
the dead people in Frostflow Lighthouse.

EDIT: Is there a way of setting your Guardiant Stone through the console? I don't want to have to treck all the way to Helgen just for the Guardian Stones.

Remade Tamrin and changed his origin to (possibly) be more lore-friendly. So far Skyrim has been pretty unfriendy to Tamrin. On the way from the abandoned prison to Riften, he's been attacked by many skeevers and wolves, two groups of bandits, spiders, witches, a Skooma salesman, and a group of treasure hunters. i have to say, it's pretty fun playing on high difficulties with slow leveling, because you can't handle anything like you often can in vanilla lower difficulties. I had to run from the witches, bandits, and treasure hunters, because lv. 1 Tamrin was no match for them.

Ra'vhash (Khajiit): Since he was very young, he dreamed of a life of adventure and excitement. For a while, he remained with his tribe, who traveled the vast expanses of Elsweyr selling their hand-crafted wares to anyone who would buy them. For a time, he rose to high-esteem among people, bearing a gift for combat and swiftly becoming one of the most prominent warriors. Yet, he yearned for a more exciting life. A life that didn't limit him, or set him down a set course. He wanted to be the one who cast his dreams to the wind, and make them reality. For a while, he found that life away from his people was harder than he thought, so he began to steal in order to support himself. Stealing himself a few hearts along the way. Reaching Skyrim, he was arrested and brought to Helgen. (We all know what happened there.) Once that situation was dealt with, he still yearned for adventure. But more importantly, coin. Since then, he's been a sell-sword. But what with recent circumstances involving a few chance encounters in Markarth, perhaps he is now going down a darker route. For it has become clear, that his skill with the blade and his cunning among the shadows have drawn a pair of eyes down upon him.

This all gave me an idea to do something similiar. Now if I could make a nord whos eyes did not look stupid. I swear I have made atleast 10 characters and deleted them all because once I got out of Helgen I saw how their eyes looked. WTF is with eyes!? I miss the DA creation. I always was happy with characters I made in that.

Enter "showracemenu" in the console and that takes you back to character creation. That way, you can mess around a little more with your character, provided you don't change your race, which I think may reset your stats. I use it all the time to change hairstyles, beards, and warpaint and fix features that looked fine in Helgen but jacked up everywhere else.

I could never do DiD. (A similar thing came up in another (Fallout) forum.)

But...here's my character:

An Altmer, Liana Rika, serving as the personal agent of a high ranking Thalmor wizard in Alinor has been ordered to allow herself to be captured by the Empire in order to sabotage the Empire's positions in Skyrim by siding with the Stormcloaks and aiding them to victory by any means necessary, even the killing of Justiciars.

When the Empire attempts to execute her, she finds out of miniature factional "battles" within the Thalmor government that put her life, and the life of her master, in danger. In order to halt the other factions from blowing her cover in the Stormcloaks, leaving her completely isolated in Skyrim, and saving the life of her master...she must become a master of Conjuration, Destruction, Restoration, and Stealth, as well as the battle arts.

She must also make Elenwen, an agent of one of the Thalmor factions, appear as incompetent and powerless as possible in order to get her replaced with either Ondolemar, who is a friendly agent from her master's faction, or another friendly agent.

Because it turns out that she is Dragonborn, her actions in Skyrim will become well known, so she must be merciless with Elenwen's Justiciars and as friendly with Ondolemar as possible.

Elsbet
Imperial woman in her late twenties.

Elsbet is an orphan. She doesn't remember her parents. She spent her childhood in an orphanage in Cyrodiil. She escaped and lived on the streets. She had a hard life and learned to be cold and cruel to survive. When she was eighteen she had a lover who was much older than her, a hedge wizard who'd been in and out of prison several times and who worked with the local Thieves' Guild. He taught her to read and use magic, and how to brew potions and poisons. He became increasingly cold and distant toward her as he realized how unstable and irrational she was. Since she's paranoid and delusional (and the jealous type), she thought he was having an affair with another woman and poisoned him with one of his own recipes. Then she slit the other woman's throat.

The woman was the wife of a local blacksmith. After she murdered the woman, she filled up a cart with everything in his shop and set herself up as a traveling merchant. She had a brief affair with another smith in another town who taught her how to work a forge. When he became too "needy", she stole his inventory and moved on to another town, eventually making her way to Skyrim. At the border, running low on inventory, she stopped at a busy tavern where several other merchants had stopped. She decided to create a distraction so that she could make off with another merchant's wagon. She had heard about the tensions between the Stormcloaks and the Imperials, so she manipulated a big dumb lout of a Nord into starting a fight with a group of Imperial soldiers. Unfortunately, she got caught while making her getaway.

Elsbet has always believed that she was someone 'special'. She believes that her parents were probably very important and wealthy nobles and murdered because they posed a threat to the corrupt rulers of the Empire. She believes that it's her destiny to rule Tamriel. When she discovered she was the Dragonborn, everything fell into place. She decided that it was a sign that she should begin her mission and her first step is to take over Skyrim. She is working her way up the ranks in the Thieve's Guild and has recently been recognized by the Dark Brotherhood for her exceptional ability. She joined the Bard's guild to gain access to the jarls and gain an intimate understanding of the layout of the courts, their routines, and key players. She's currently trying to get on Mavin's good side so that she won't have to walk far when she stabs her in the back. It's all about timing, you see. And, of course, having a good plan.

Name: Jaaquin
Age: Early 30's
Race: Argonian
Class: Thief/Assassin (Dual Orcish Swords, Dual Orcish Swords, Thieve's Guild Full Armor Set)

Before the game began Jaaquin was a fair and good man/lizard who thought the world was a good place. Until the Stormcloak and Imperial war broke out. At first he considered joining The Stormcloak Rebellion as he respected them for fighting for their freedom of religion and culture until he seen a group of Stormcloak's being very overly racist to a dark elf in Windhelm. He was absolutely disgusted by this treatment and soon found out that they treated all other races besides Nords in that same similar way. Taking these many multiple acts of racism to the extreme it completely changed his outlook on life and he realized the world is overall a cold and dark place. He then grew a hatred for the Stormcloaks and soon fell in with the wrong crowd. He became a very skilled thief and assassin using mainly Skyforged Steel Daggers and Orcish Swords. He joined the Thieve's Guild and works as constantly for them. He is currently about to journey to Solitude and join the Imperial Legion to help obliterate the Stormcloaks from Skyrim as he journeys to Solitude he slaughters any Stormcloak camps he sees or any wandering Stormcloak soldiers he spots. That is the story so far....
