Your "Oh Snap!" Moments : V - Skyrim

Yesterday, I retrieved a daedric artifact and ran it back (no fast travel) to where I needed to deliver it. The next pat of the quest involved loading a new area, which on my settings generally triggers an autosave.

Got fried pretty quickly, then realized that in this instant there'd been no autosave.

So had to run it back again (and was very much tempted to fast travel but resisted that temptation).

Was clearing out a bandit fort. I killed everyone outside, and the moment i enter the building I am swiftly decapitated by a bandit chief. I was like :blink:

I was clearing out a bandit cave and started down a narrow passage. The chief met me with a battle axe. I suddenly saw the decap animation and I had assumed it was my guy killing him as I had just got the perk. Image my surprise when I saw my headless body slump to the ground. Up to that point I didn't know that NPC's could do the finishing moves.

Was it close to Falkreth? I entered a dungeon around there and encountered weak enemies all the way to end, were i met the same boss as you. Unlike you thou, i stood no chance and had to bugger out.

I too have encountered this vampire, I have not been back either because I was a low level the first time their but I cannot remember where I found him.

Coming into Riverwood during my first hour of play; see a chicken and think 'hmmm that's dinner sorted', subsequently stick an arrow in it and prompt a full on battle with my level 1 nord and the whole popultation of riverwood, damn they love their chickens.

I think that same chicken was roasted by a dragon during one of my visits to Riverwood. No one complained when I retrieved the well-done chicken briast.

Maybe, but I don't remember. It happened before Xmas 2011, but it kinda stuck with me how easy I was killed when it caugh me off guard.

First, when I discovered that there is an old dragon living all peacefully on top of the Throat of the World.
Second, when the Blades found out that this dragon was a cheeky bastard.

Those were some really good "Oh Snap!" moments for me.

Skeevers get me a lot too I usually don't know they're there until they bite me in the face. Ugly bastards.

My oh snap moment happend about one hour after i stole some chees from a giant. A mammoth droped from the sky and landed on my head, successfully ended my dead-is-dead character career (got to tell you the giants really like their chees if they are willing to throw mammoths over it)

Hahaha, lovely! Seen that once before. It was so random I think I laughed for half an hour afterwards.

Noob moment, when I first ran through Bleak Falls Barrow, I was oblivious to the pressure plate with the swinging spiked-door mechanism, it nearly gave me a heart attack.

Yeah, those are the worst on the first encounter ^^

as i was killing a sabrecat an ice wraith snuck up directly behind the sabrecat at an angle that i couldnt see it and as soon as the sabrecat fell the ice wraith lunged at me at frightening speed it caused me to physically jump backwards out of shock.

Hmm, right at start of game. Went into keep with the imperial dude. Got dressed out and went and killed storm cloaks in first room. We went running on down hall. I got in front turning the corner and damn roof caved in on my head. Just about jumped over the back of my chair. :bonk:

Was riding my horse when all the sudden flames are being spewed all over me. I was thinking,"Oh ok just another measly dragon I can take down in a few hits." But no. It's an elder dragon and I'm not on that high of a level yet, so I jumped into the river as I was crying like a baby

That's just because you're so high level. Most people just have a ghostly draugr, AFAIK.

I was in Darkwater Crossing and a dragon attaked. He flew above the lake next to the town and hovered there as it attacked me. So I'm on the shore, right next to the tents, shooting arrows at this dragon and I start taking damage from behind. So I turn around and three spriggans spawned right there in the camp. I had to jump in the water and swim across to get away while still being attacked by the dragon. After I killed it, I went back and cleared the spriggans fully expecting the camp to be full of corpses. I'm guessing everyone ran off because one by one they returned to the camp. Thanks for the help, guys!
