Your Zombie Contingency Plan!

Post » Fri Jul 15, 2011 7:35 pm

Over the years, I've always found a zombie attack to be my favorite apocalyptic scenario. One of my favorite things to do when I'm bored is to think of plans for if one ever happens (I doubt it, but its fun to think about). So, what would your plan be? Would you defend your house or apartment? Seek a government safe zone? Escape the country? What weapons would you ideally or realistically have? What would you wear? Who would you want with you?

The only thing me and my mates have planned so far is me being the bait.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

In all actuality, the main focus of my plan is to protect my girlfriend at all costs. I'm a pretty good shot with any gun (unless it's a muzzle loader :yuck:) and I'm even better with a compound bow. Top that off with my extensive knowledge of the geography of the surrounding area and we'll be good to go.

Also, in an apocalyptic situation, be it zombies, nuclear fallout, etc., I wouldn't take crap from anybody. If someone tries to cross me, they're as good as dead.

Steal a boat and take to the sea. Probably establish a base up north where it is too cold for zombies to operate and then be a privateer or pirate of the high seas. I'd occasionally head south to raid the coastline for food before returning to base, probably somewhere in Canada.

My weapon situation depends on if I'm at my moms or my dads.

At my moms, I have three shovels, a pickaxe, and an ice scraqer, plus my friend has two machetes.

At my dads, I have a Mosin Nagant, a bolt action .22, two 12 gauge shotguns, a Beretta, and a little Ruger .380, plus a close proximity to a military post.

Well, I've played Left 4 Dead, so I know how well government "safe zones" tend to turn out (spoiler: not very). ;)

And considering attempting to flee the country would likely spread zombie apocalypse-itis, I would probably team up with as many friends and family members as possible (assuming the phones still work) and barricade ourselves somewhere with enough food to last until the whole thing blew over, and stay there with a shotgun pointed at the entrance.

Well, you could always come hide out with me on the Isle of Dogs.
...Wait, that didn't work out too well either, did it? Damn.
Also, I live in America. Double damn. >.>

Kill all sons'a [censored]es.

Seriously though, If I'm not living with my family (at university at the time, like Columbus) I'd first gather some supplies (I'm already armed) and just head somewhere cold and snowy to sit the whole thing out.

Not the best plan ever, but I thought it up in under a minute, so give me credit for that!

If I had to choose a location to sit things out, It'd be the Carolina Outer Banks. I mean, its across the state, but its only accessible by boats or a bridge, the police there have good guns (UMP40s and Glocks), and all the towns are practically deserted outside the tourist season (I went there in April last year, Manteo was a ghost town).

My plan would be to build a steam engine and ride the rails.

Far superior to gas. All you need is water and something to burn... Wood, coal, Zombies...

Plus with a good source of power, I could carry a lot of other gear and cover a lot of ground to search for civilization.

Oh, and I've always wanted to yell 'Ramming Speed!'.

Well me and my buddies kind of thought about it. I'd get up, pick up a shovel and beat down some mother [censored] zombies. I'd then walk over to my friends house, pick her up and walk over to wal-mart. Beat more zombies to death. Get to wal-mart. Get some guns/knives/whatever else would be usefull. Steal a car. Run over zombies. Make a game out of it maybe. Drive to a friends house who actually has alot of guns. Hold out there until we manage to modify a truck. Drive around and find a great place to holdout. Holdout there for the next forever and probably have a giant competition going.

Oh and pick up more people along the way hopefully. Anyways that's the plan, pretty bad now that i think of it but who cares? :D

EDIT: Oh and follow the zombie land rules, those seem helpfull :hubbahubba:

Ready my sword, "raid" local store for supplies and wait until local military wipes out/gets wiped by the zombies.

Go to North Dakota. Nobody lives in North Dakota, so there won't be any zombies there to kill me. (Sorry, people in North Dakota)

But if they come for me, then I'll just slowly work my way North until they leave me alone.

Lucky I live on an island of only 500,000 where almost every house is stocked with guns.

Shouldn't be too long until the place is mine...

Unless the zombies get a hold of the guns

Then you'll really be screwed
