Youtube and Copyright

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:18 am

I have a couple youtube videos with clips from Skyrim. One of theose clips recieved a Copyright Infringment complaint, but not from Bethesda or Zenimax. I can not appeal the complaint as far as I know I really do not have permission from Bethesda or Zenimax for the clips. I know this is sorta a grey area. Is there any place that states permission like in the licenses or something?

Uploading Skyrim footage to youtube shouldn't be a problem at all. Did you add any music to the video? Usually you get those copyright complaints when you've attached copyrighted music to the video.

Nope, it was a straight clip from Skyrim with a text image I created in Photoshop. I know it was a bad claim, but I can't really appeal it because I said, as far as I know I don't have permissions.

You can appeal it. User-generated content includes video clips of your antics in game.
