If you mean YSGRAMOR he's the leader of the original Companions and the 500.

He basically helped settled Skyrim and eventually all of Tamriel for the "Human" races. (Ie. Redguard, Nord, Imperial, etc.)

Shor is (from what I've heard) essentially the "Hades" or Devil in a sense of their lore.

Shor isn't Satan by any means. At worst he's more like Loki, and even that depends on which myths you're taking to be correct.

Always remember you can't take anything you read in the game as the gospel truth. There are all kinds of books that contradict each other.

I enjoy trying to climb to the peaks in this game, except when I find myself viewing my character ragdolling down a slope :wallbash:

Ditto that, combined with a lil mod to increase killcam duration, hurling yourself off mountains becomes a pastime

I've never heard the term Ysgramor's beard. Is you mean Ysmir, he is the aspect of Talos and Talos himself. Of course, the title 'Ysmir' is bestowed upon all the Dragonborns by the Grey Beards. It literally translates to 'Dragon of the North.'

Shor is the Nordic version of Lorkhan and the ruler of the realm of Sovngarde, the after life of the Nords. Along with Talos, he is heavily revered by the Nords.

Ysgramor brought the Nedic people to Skyrim and eventually settled all of Tamriel for men. He is also a heavily respected Tamrielic figure.

Redguards came from Yakuda in the west. They are not descended from those who arrived from Atmora (the proto-Nords). They are still men, just not descended from that group.

Thus, why I said "from what I've heard".. I didn't entirely know, or even look it up for that matter. So sorrrry my bad..

I do know alot about Ysgramor though from the game. I know theres probably way more to know out there just haven't looked.

Shor isn't even necessarily Loki. When elves refer to him, he's a Loki type of character - Lorkhan, a trickster. When Nords refer to him, he's a Thor like character - Shor, a warrior god, and one responsible for the creation of the mortal plane. He's only really evil if you're a hardcoe elf.

And the reason why Elves and Nords tend to hate each other is because they're own gods war against each other.

why do the gods war against each other ? (is talking about the religions of the game characters races against the rules (as in falling into the no talking about religion/politicts rule)

They only war against Shor in certain mythologies. There are many "versions" of the story, but basically, Shor devised a plan to create the mortal/temporal universe, got the other spiritual beings on his side, and left out the "fine print" of what it really entailed. It brought instability and weakened many of these primordial/divine beings. To mortals, like humans, he is a hero and their creator, and the architect of everything they know. To elves, who see themselves as the very weakened versions of these divine beings, he is a trickster and unholy. It's said that these gods killed him, but his remains are part of the very fabric of the world itself. And that he keeps reincarnating as a mortal himself, who wages wars against the enemies of humans (elves especially).

Well save for Redguards yes

I don't look at mountains like something to climb, although I just recently noticed that mist on tops of mountains = dragon and word wall, so I climb them to kill it
