I had him as my follower and we started attacking mammoths for fun but I ran away when the mammoths closed in, but I turned around after killing one and he disapeared. I searched for him for ages with no luck, I rested to see if he would pop up next to me after a few hours, he didnt. I searched for the body but it was nowhere to be found. I fast traveled to winterhold and he is not there and I assigned a new follower without any problems

So is he dead ? i didn't think he could die.

Maybe a Giant saw you Mammoth tipping his herd, and sent J'zargo launching?

Even as we speak j'zargo is still in flight. Leaving skyrim and morrowind behind, his next destination is the plains of oblivion lol.

he's dead then ... I have a new follower. I replaced him with the girl from the COW who sleeps in the next room. The one that turns u into a cow and a chicken lol she's ok .. but j'zargo was a true mage !

actually he tended to injure me a lot after I gave him the scrolls back from his quest. He used them on himself then stood right next to me!

Me: '*sighh* ...oh I'm on fire again..... Thanks j'zargo. That fire cloak really helps to kill the enemies who aren't here in this dangerous part of the middle of nowhere '

I always have to re-load my save if J'zargo dies, In fact he's the reason I restarted my Level 66 main character because I failed his quest awhile ago and couldn't get him as a follower.

I had a similar experience of him dying as you did, didn't notice he wasn't with me for awhile when I was wandering around in the Loaded all the way back to when I checked in with another companion and they accepted to follow me.

Sorry to hear that, j'zargo ends up being the most powerful follower end game.

LUCKY YOU. I had to listen to that screaming zealot all the time until i finally decided to slit his religious throat.

Oh well, if he cant take a mammoth then he deserves to die. I do like him but that's just the way the cookie crumbles ... Lol this woman with me doing jus as good atm anyway .. il inform everyone when she dies, with my luck it won't be long. I see a bandit castle up ahead.
