this does work to some extent.. but on larger save file sizes it is not enough.

i have a 9MB save and it only extends paly time by maybe 1 hour if i'm lucky. but with that time at leats the frame rate is up before catastrophic failure.

Catastrophic failure? My game LAGS after around 30 hours now. Hopefully this extends it a bit.

meanign it freezes and my PS3 hard boots itself after a few minutes..

How long before that happens? My save file is bigger then yours. Have you been to every city and completed the MQ?

i have not completed the MQ, but i have completed the civil war quest, and i have been to every city and discovered at the least 50 to 75% of the map, and been in a crap load of dungeons.

i've also completed the winterhold quests, and companions main quests, as well as numerous side quests, and gotten several daedric artifacts, also it varies on freezing but is usually consistant with doign it after 3 hours, 4 with internet disabled.

Have you done Thieves/DB yet?

started theives, no DB yet, also started bards, i also found out that my daedric "sanguine rose" quest is broken on my 9 MB save file.. as after the drinks with sam it didn't have my character black out.

My Bards College questline will probably be bugged because I picked up Rjor's Drum long ago. I heard that glitches the quest.

Also turn off all the auto saves. Helps a little with keeping the file size down.. Just make sure you save after big moments. Also after doing alot killing in the wild, use the wait feature for 4 or more game days before you save. This will clean up the corpses and help with the file as well. Mine even goes down sometimes now I've been doing this.

i thought the same. yesterday i tried it and i was able to immediatly finish the Rjors Drum quest, even after i already had it in my inventory. i got the 2 other quests, got the items from the told caves and was able to finish the bard academy quests.

but in my quest log i still have to "encounter the bard academy" and i get the marker on the guy. cant finish that one

11mb and 88% of the PSN trophies completed...and then I got fed up and traded it in at Rock 30 Games. I just couldn't take it anymore. I mean, Farkas just wouldn't leave me along. Even if you made him take an arrow in the knee. Damn he was a clingy [censored]. Piss off, Farkas! If Farkas wasn't willing to get a life, then I had to be the bigger man. Plain and simple.

Auto saves have been turned off from the very beginning. Hasn't helped much with the sloppy LAG.

@ShinXur Same thing with my miscellaneous quest to talk with the Thieves Guild guy. I'm a member of the Guild now, but that miscellaneous quest won't clear.
