Too bad... you missed the "Bug Paranoiac" achievement if you fill the thousand slots inside the first 50 hours of gameplay.

Spoiler
Joke!

Perhaps I'm being a little neurotic, but I really don't want my game to freeze up and break. I've saved 876 times on my manual saves already, which is about half of my total saves on Fallout 3.

Anyone else saving every five minutes to avoid getting bugged?

That sounds about right. I don't necessarily need all those saves, but it's always best to be prepared.

It seemed like I just maxed out on saves, near 130. On the PS3 at least. I save every couple of minutes, before every fight, before every red dot on the map, every important looking conversation.

Life is tough without quicksaving, thats the only thing I like on the PC.

3 Saves.

Did you guys ever heard of the word ''overwrite''? I have got one Save for normal Saves, when i turn off the Console. Then a second, general Save, when i do something risky or enter a Area i haven't discovered yet before conversations wich may need speech skill ect. And one 3. Save wich i save (And OVERWRITE!!) about every 15 minutes to avoid much lose after some bug.

I quick save like a madman. Too easy on the pc not too. Like one of the posters above, I save before every conversation and after. Before entering any door. Entering any town. Before heading over any hill I can’t see over or valley I can’t see from the ridge. Basically all the time.

Hard saves I’ll do every half hour or so, but for the vast majority of those I overwrite the hard save before it.

It takes less button presses to make a new save than to overwrite...

I save often because I've had corrupted files, and paranoia has been induced.

51 hours in the game myself and I have around 360+ saves, I tend to be pretty obsessive about it considering the fact that I've had the game freeze up on me quite a few times (Especially in Freeside) so I don't want to lose any of my hard earned progress. :tops:

Is that as in you have that many save files? or you have saved that many times? i had 10 by the end because of the NPC frame rate bug.

because in 50 hours i hardly ever had the game bug enough for me to load it.

I have around 65 hours in and I saved about 230 times. I usually do it before I enter a dungeon, when I'm outside for a long time, or I'm about to enter a tough area.

I don't understand why people think it's weird to make separate save slots rather than overwriting, it's the exact same thing. If I made 100 saves separately or kept overwriting a few save slots I would still have 100 saves. It's just i'm given the luxury of going back further than people who overwrite one save slot. Some might think it's not a luxury, but meh :P
