Abraham Lincon > Dawnguard

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 11:04 pm

So I saw A.Lincon Vampire Hunter and I must say wow. The movie the story everything was superb, and all I could also think about was how it made the Dawnguard look like milk drinkers. You got crossbows? Abe Lincon has a woodcutters axe, try killing a vampire with one of those. And on that not I will be killing vampires with only a woodcutters axe in honor of the movie. How do you guys feel?

Out of all the people in history or fictional characters they could have made they choose honest abe. He is probably turning over in his grave right now.

There's a silver-edged Woodcutter's Axe mod already, and another one for the top hat.

They should make a mod that makes Ulfric and the Stormcloaks all vampires so you can reenact a rough version of the plot of the book/film.

Nay, the Stormcloaks represent colonial America fighting to get out from under an empire that seeks to take their natural resources.

I always pictured them as the confederates, but i still sided with them because it didn't really matter at all and i wanted change.

Debateable. Skyrim's always been a part of the Empire since its inception, so it's not like their a colonial territory trying to gain independence. They're trying to separate from a political body that they helped to form. That bears much more similarity to the South during the Civil War than the American colonies during the Revolutionary War.

Besides, the North used a lot of the South's resources before the split occurred anyway, so that doesn't really differentiate the two of them.

I feel like there's no real reason to side with The Empire. At least not with the whole "verge of death" thing.

I'm not convinced there will be an Empire come the next TES game.

Well, unless it's TES: AkaVIr.

Fun fact: He was indeed a vampire hunter in real life despite vampires not actually existing.

There could be people who actually feast upon the blood and crave it's metallic goodness. Perhaps there was a variant of Bath Salts in his time? LOL!

We're talking about Dawnguard. It's only for the Xbox 360 right now. How is that relevant?

I'll say this: If you think the idea doesn't sound fun, don't go see the movie.

If however, you liked the book (which, besides the vampire hunting part, is actually quite factual) or like these kind of alternate/weird history films, you'll probably enjoy yourself. It's not perfect, but it's a decent enough flick.

I sense ... something.

Also, the movie was really fun. I pity anyone who dismisses it because they think they're above silly premises or something.

It had a better love story than Twilight to boot.

Woodcutter's axe needs to upgrade as your one handed skill increases.

It already does more damage according to your one-handed skill.

And there is a mod http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=11822 that allows you to improve it on a grinding wheel, all the way to Legendary if your smithing skill is high enough. Currently playing an Argonian who uses a deadly poisoned woodcutter's axe.

No they don't, pretty tired of people making that connection because they really don't, the stormcloaks are lead by a man who is trying to take over a country using a good reason but he is only interested in being on the throne, not for the so called golden age stormcloaks think they'll get and the Imperials really don't need all of the resources and neither did British back then, the lose of the colonies wasn't really a huge blow to the British because they had the biggest empire around whereas the north in the civil war needed resources from the south so thus the stormcloaks represent the south more then the colonials.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Nfmh178L98 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-DrKgjit4I are much better in my opinion. Sorry, but I'm especially hard on a movie for diverging from the book when you call it Bram Stoker's Dracula, implying that you're really going to adhere to the book.

Not that it's a particularly bad movie. It's okay. But there are better films out there.

Edit: This is mostly off topic, but the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ucjvu63VfY&feature=player_embedded for Dracula looks incredible.
