Didn't get any replies yet, but thought I'd bump this to see if anyone else knows anything.

£24.85 http://www.simplygames.com/info/19002/The-Elder-Scrolls--Skyrim-PC and they do international shipping.

Try adding it your basket and seeing if you can have it delivered to Lithuania.

I'm interested in the answer as well. My Skyrim will be an UK version and its still uncertain if i can activate it in my country...

On the other hand, if i can't, then i can *censored* :celebration: (sometimes laws work in your favor...)

Buying it from Europe is ridiculously overpriced, and that wasn't the point. The point was if I can activate a physical copy of Skyrim in a country that has Skyrim blocked on steam. My only option is to purchase it in US anyways.
EDIT: Stop asking for me to buy it in Europe because it's much closer. I'm not asking where it's closer to buy.
Well too bad. There's this little thing called regions. I don't think video-game regions are the same as DVD regions, but buying the game 4000 miles away doesn't help your chances of it working.

I know it doesn't, but believe it or not it's easier for me.
But if there is a difference then I guess I'll have to buy it from somewhere closer.

I do believe that it's easier, but most movies/games I know of are region-locked.

DVD regions:http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/92/DVD-Regions_with_key-2.svg
You should be good with buying a UK version assuming the following is true:
  • Skyrim is actually region-locked
  • Skyrim's regions match those of DVDs
  • Lithuania is not that tiny blue speck (I'm bad at European geography)

That's a massive IF, so you're best off just waiting on Bethesda/Steam to answer the question.

If it can, does that officially mean I could play it?

Because steam doesn't seem to have the game available in his country. So since he is having issues purchasing it off of steam (it's not showing up or something), he fears that he wouldn't be able to activate it with steam either, even if he had a physical copy.

This is all based off of him having the PC version though. If he got one of the other versions, it wouldn't be an issue, but I'm assuming he wants the PC version here.

TC, the one thing I can add to this discussion is if you went to an area in which steam wasn't blocked/ wasn't missing skyrim or whatever your exact problem is, you could most certainly at least activate it in that region. And once it's been activated, you could just select the play offline option on steam and you'd never have to worry about needing to connect to steam for skyrim again.

Lets say I have the physical copy and someone logs on my steam account from the US and activates the key I give them. Could I then log in my account, install the game from CD, and play it with steam in Online mode (if by saying "offline option" you meant offline mode)? I mean I want the updates that will come with it. I'd like to be able to have conversations with friends on steam too.

You can activate it how you say via a proxy. I used a proxy to unlock Civ V early, but I cant remember how to anymore.

Anyway, have you tried contacting Steam support to ask them about this issue?

I have Contacted Steam support and Bethesda. No answer from either yet.
I heard Steam doesn't like when people use proxies. I could be banned I think, but I'm not sure what type of ban it would be. And would I be able to download updates and play with steam in online mode when I disable the proxy?

Now, they said that "Purchases made directly through Steam are not restricted by territory."
Does that mean a person from the US could buy me Skyrim, and I could download and play it normally in Lithuania?

I would say your only hope is to go to a console.

But I hate living here, I shouldn't be punished like this - I'm already being punished by having to live here.
Anyways, do you have any idea what they meant by "Purchases made directly through Steam are not restricted by territory."?

Not really, I merely use steam =/

You just have to wait and see if Skyrim pops up ... Sorry about that.

Does RAGE or Skyrim appear in the steam store for you?
Why the hell are the letters in RAGE all capitalized?

That says what I've already suspected. The game is region-locked here to stop people from buying cheaper from another country, or through the Steam store. It's because someone else is handling the publishing here, just like in Russia (as noted by GStaff), and they want to make a profit. So the final answer would be no: you can't and shouldn't buy it anywhere else, only through a local retailer.

Yes, they do.
Which means it isn't region-locked there and hence your US copy is guaranteed to work.

Strange thing is the local vendor I've pre-ordered from claims that the delivery will be in the form of a steam activation key. So they might have some insider info about the game actually appearing in Steam. I've written to them, but seeing how it's the holidays I expect a response no sooner than wednesday.

I'm asking steam support my, probably final, question before I cancel the pre-order from US.

"You stated that "Purchases made directly through Steam are not restricted by territory." Does that mean a person from USA can gift me Skyrim through steam, and I'll be able to download, play it, and be able to update the game in Lithuania?"

Eps, I actually meant "Does that mean a person from the US could buy me Skyrim THROUGH STEAM, and I could download and play it normally in Lithuania?".
