After Alduin - Blades or Greybeards

I let my man paarthy live. He's been chilliaxin at his spot at the top of the world for eons, obviously he is (somewhat) content with his meditations. Why mess up a good thing? :-) Now, IF he told me that he wanted to go and he thought it was his time, i would do him the favor, but like i said he seems content.
The bummer for me is, i think sky haven temple is a pretty kick**s place, and would love to see it back in its full glory, but not at the sacrifice of paarthy. If Delphine wants that deed done, she can try to hike up to the top of the world and try to do it herself. I doubt she would have a very good chance against me, the greybeards, and paarthy waiting for her at the top. :-)
Never really liked her during the quest, and she definitely rubbed me the wrong way after the ultimatum.

It seems ironic but Delphine said in Kynesgrove :
The blades began as dragonslayers, and we served the dragonborn. The greatest dragonslayer

On my first run-through I hoped that the quest-lines would lead to me being able to reform the Empire and get the Blades involved in hounding the Thalmor, but it seems if that is possible it will have to wait for a further expansion. I love Esbern and kinda like Delphine (the rage against her kind of boggles me; yeah she is a bossy [censored] but I find that amusing; I like Maven also...think it might be a girl thing appreciating women who kick butt or at least try to. Snarky Lydia ticks me off...She doesn't have to carry my burdens anymore; I didn't ressurect her.)

Anyway, I left the Blades when they insisted I kill Paarthy. I didn't want to kill them but I did steal Dragonbane and all their rare books of lore. After all I AM THE DRAGONBORN and they should be helping me, not vice versa. I'll set my own agenda and if they come to their senses they can be my followers some day. I notice that after I killed Alduin they got more friendly and will chat with me if I drop by, but they still keep their precious Blades armour in their chest. I don't care; my hand-crafted Dragonscale is better.

I think there are valid arguments for killing Paarthy... the idea that he must fight his own nature to be peaceful and remains an eternal threat to humanity. I keep that open as an option, should it become necessary. But Paarthy helped me and so did the Graybeards and I don't turn on my allies without good reason.

I think my main concern is the reason why paar helped ya. From his actions at the very end, it seemed he wanted alduins spot but since nothing could hurt alduin, he waited for a dragonborn at the very spot to give him the weapon that is then only thing in existence to take alduin out.

Also I find it strange why the people turned on paar and the helpful dragons after alduin had been banished? Was it a simple trust issue that they figured they be betted off without a threat later or was it that with alduin gone, paar tried to rally the dragons under his banner and failed and the people turned on him. All theory bc theres no info why the helpful dragons were hunted down.

But like I said, people having the same goals makes them allys, but the reasons behind the goals will make or break if they really are allys or enemys that were temporary allys.

Almost like a reformed person helping to take out there boss only so that they can grab the spot.

But overall, I think if the blades had asked after the fight with alduin, itd be a different story, but I think the reason why they asked before was to bypass the essential tag paar would have gotten. Just think about it, a dragon that cant be killed except with console commands....scary

All theory bc theres no info why the helpful dragons were hunted down.

I assume it was because the people primarily responsible for hunting them down didn't really care if they were helpful or not, only that they were dragons and it was their goal to destroy them.

From UESP, regarding the Akaviri Dragonguard:

These great dragonslayers invaded and cut a path through Tamriel, only to be defeated by the legendary Reman Cyrodiil. The surviving Akaviri revered Reman as the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dovahkiin hero that they had been searching for, and swore fealty to him, becoming his personal bodyguard. Over the centuries, this group grew in size, eventually becoming the Blades who served the Septim emperors. They very nearly completed their quest to wipe out the dragons, with only a few known to have survived.

Emphasis mine. It seems clear to me that in their demand for Paarthurnax's death, Delphine and Esbern are merely reverting to the ways of their predecessors.

I was guessing that was why esbern and delpie had a big hardon for wanting paar dead. Seeing how their were a few left, I know one Tiber got to guard a cave or whatnot, they killed another in the 2nd era, im guessing paar pretty much last on the list. I guess I can kinda see their impatience now them seeing a chance for ther ancestors list being finished and all.

Id also like to think the blades were always dragonslayers as well as the emporers bodyguard, and since theirs septim to bodyguard anymore, when the dragons came back they werent before BC there were no dragons alive they were allowed to slay, paar being the last one and all. Going thru the greybeards wouldnt sit well politically with the emporers.
