After Crysis 2, original Crysis looks outdated and ugly!

is there any way to remove the kind of grain effect in the game ? it makes it really hard to see far away. Any way to increase draw distance too ?
i keep laughting when tags and papers spawn on wall at 10 meters from me. I kinda feel like my sandy bridge built is not used at it max potential

-Mangs607 : who the hell call a pc CPU ?. Never heard that. people will say, desktop, computer, rig, etc.. but CPU ? rofl. Must be the same kind of person that answer "windows" when you ask them "what do you have inside your pc"

CPU was a more common term in the earlier days of home computers, when peripherals other than the motherboard were usually housed in their own separate cases.

It can still be used metaphorically to refer to a computer. However, names like: Computer, PC, or Rig, are a better choice so as not to confuse anyone nowadays.

So, i finished Crysis 2 and went back playing Crysis 1. I couldn't believe my eyes, but it just looks horrible compared to Crysis 2. Honestly, why someone still says Crysis 1 looks much better. Heavily modded maybe, but vanilla isn't match for Crysis 2. Lightning, shadows and even textures that everyone rants about are better looking. Surely there is lowres textures in Crysis 2 and those looks really ugly, but in original Crysis there is even more lowres textures and the rest isn't so highres. I agree that palmtrees and white sand looks lovely, but technically Crysis 2 is so much better. Especially indoor scenes are superior compared to C1.

Go play Crysis 2 and right after that Crysis 1 and you come in to same conclusion. Crysis 2 looks so much better! Even gameplay in C1 feels clumsy after Crysis 2.

Can't wait dx11!

First time i read this i smashed my head into the table... second time I read it I had to whack it again... unfortunately I still don't understand what this man is saying... maybe its just me...

You are right saying that crysis 2 look better for lighting in that respect but crysis 1 still looks fabulous on very high max res. but i cant argue because c2 looks increadable espeacially the black out mission with all the lights n stuff.

I'm disappointed they took away the excellent physics from the first game. One of my favorite things to do in the Crysis (1) was to take advantage of the physics as a tactical upperhand- blow up a building's wall, break through a roof, etc. Crysis 2 was definitely "dumbed" down for performance in comparison, I mean the first one actually felt like a living breathing world while Crysis 2...well hardly.

Since Crytek is not releasing hires textures for us... is there anyway that we can use the some if not all textures from orginal Crysis1 and then just replace those textures in Crysis2 ?

Any idea?

Yes we can. Go to this link and read the instructions on one of the lat pages : http://crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=67740

You can replace all the terrain textures just by grabbing the folder from the original crysis and unpacking it and putting it in your Crysis 2 game folder. But the object textures are gonna take a long time to sort through because a lot are new. But they are working on it.

I just installed Warhead. Playing 1920x1080 all settings maxed to enthusiast. While the water looks good, and I do miss the destruction a little, the rest of the game isn't as good as a lot of you guys remember. Crysis 2 looks better. A lot better.

That's because you aren't using mods. Crysis 1 is the best when it comes to adding mods and custom configs. Crysis 2 is nowhere near as good as even vanilla Crysis 1. I have proved that but you guys can't seem to come to the realization. I guess it's because you don't want to admit that you paid money for an inferior product.

i always have my games set 2 the highest graphics on my CPU

lol on your CPU. eh? Do you even know what you are talking about? No, you don't, because if you did, you would know that your CPU has nothing to do with rendering gfx in Crysis. (Hint: The there is another device in your compoopoo that renders gfx in Crysis. It ryhms with CPU. Its a _PU)

You would have to know a little bit about this device (make and model) to make sure you could actually play crysis at max settings.

Is crytek paying you to make these statements or something?

You obviously have a lot to learn. It turns out you're the one who doesn't know what they're talking about. The acronym CPU usually refers to the Central Processing Unit, however, it has also been used to refer to a "PC". Which is most likely what he's referring to.

And the Central Processing Unit DOES play a huge role in rendering graphics. It doesn't matter how great a video card you have if don't have a CPU powerful enough to handle it.

Kid I have no idea where you are getting your information from but the CPU has never been referred to as a PC. The PC is the entire machine you idiot. A CPU is and always will be the processor of the PC. It is never considered a PC. The PC is the entire machine with the motherboard, ram, video card, sound card, and processor. The CPU or Central processing Unit is only one piece of the entire PC.

You have no **** clue what you are on about. I've been building PC's since I was 2 years old and I've known that info since I was 4. Also the GPU doesn't have a damn thing to do with the graphics. The only way the CPU effects your graphics is if you have a CPU bottleneck which means your GPU can't perform to the fullest because you have a **** processor. The CPU controls the game logic like AI, scripting, and physics through havoc or other physics engines unless you use PhysX. Then it becomes GPU dependent.

Go educate yourself a bit more on how a computer operates before showing your stupidity.

Also if you wanna say I'm lieing I'd be glad to break out my College A+ Introduction to computers and give you the full definitions directly from a CompTIA A+ compliant book.

The reason Crysis 1 looks better than 2 in some cases is due to those gorgeous island scenes as the screenshot above shows. So far in C2 its all in-city and lets face it.... inside a city just doesnt have that same "wow" factor no matter how high you set the textures or graphics. Scenery makes a game look good in the end, and level design.

That's because the dude's a retard. He has no clue what he's talking about. " The CPU plays a huge role in rendering graphics" No it doesn't. The only time the CPU is effected in graphic rendering cycles is when the CPU can't keep up. But that's not exactly a huge role. that's what intelligent IT users call a "bottleneck."

The kid hasn't a bloody clue and needs to start googling before he makes himself look even more like a jackass.
