Whatever. Either way, more crit is better than less.

Yeah... That i all knew. I'm gana find it quite the shame if daggers just blow for anything other then opening attacks. Even then... If you do the math, and assume a dagger only deals 1 less damage then our known 9 damage sword, the difference is so negligible, its not even a sword strikes difference, thanks to that +damage perk.

They would also have to be considerably faster in order stack their damage enough to be worth using over swords, because at that point your using expendable and highly depletable resources, in very rapid succession.

I pretty much agree though without seeing the high end dagger and swords we don;t know how it will pan out. Though I suspect it will stay the same it is possible the high end dagger does basically the same damage as a high end sword so the x15 starts looking snazzy. Like lets say 30 damage for each it ends up being 450 from ambush vs 360. 90 points is kind of cool, maybe not good enough to make it worth it, but maybe it is since it might end up letting you one shot tough foes.

Well, its a very serious consideration. Like, high end, 60 damage sword... VS 30 damage dagger... You'd be kinda screwed if you -ever- had to defend yourself with just a set of daggers.

Even with speed, you need to close a 30 base damage gap between the two. I dont have the math, but i'm sure if you were bored enough you could figure out the % difference it would take and i think it'd be pretty substantial...

If missing a sneak attack is a reload type situation... I'm not seeing this as a valid option.

BTW, i'm not saying that daggers should be = or >swords, but they should at least, well, not svck...

A few things we dont know:

Do enchants get sneak attack? How bout poisons? How much faster ARE daggers? How much damage do they really do in comparison (i was being fair by saying only 1 less)

I -really- wana use daggers as my main gear, but i also dont wana get rocked everytime a fight breaks out. Specially since i dual wield, that just prioritizes the need for effectiveness.

The way it looks right now, Missing a sneak attack is a reload type situation.

When the end of a perk tree focuses in on dagger, yeah they should not be a svck choice to just going with swords. My admittedly LONG SHOT hope is that swords don't do x12 damage effectively through the combination of perks. They are instead at x7. Using a D&D like model if x6 and x2 are viewed as 600% and 100% and they are added together you get 700% or x7. That would mean the sword of 9 damage is doing 63 from ambush and a 8 damage dagger is doing 120.

Good god. Dual Swords with all the ranks for Armsmen, Duel Flurry, and Bladesmen will destroy everything...Insane DPS with high critical chance plus good damage? Yeah def going duel swords and at least 10 perks points are going to One Handed. Add Critical Charge, Savage Strike and Duel Savagery as well damn. 13 perk points to One handed. I am going to need 70 perk points lol.
