A knights of the Nine retail disc has all of them but battlehorn castle

That's what Anticool is talking about. I ordered it from Amzon.com and got the same response:

Hello from Amazon.com.

Due to a lack of availability from our suppliers, we will not be able to obtain the following item(s) from your order:

"The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine"

We've cancelled the item(s) and apologize for the inconvenience.

Please visit the product detail pages above to see if these items are available from other sellers.

If you took advantage of a promotional offer when placing this order, this cancellation may affect your order's eligibility for that offer. If this is the case, please contact customer service:

http://www.amazon.com/contact-us

If we determine that you should still receive the offer, we'll reimburse you for the value of the promotional discount. (This will not apply if all items in the order were cancelled.)

Your credit card will NOT BE CHARGED for this item because you only pay for items when we ship them to you.

Your order is now closed.

Now there appears to be no way left to get the DLCs, since Bethesda has made it clear (through inactivity) that they have absolutely no intention whatsoever of getting Obliviondownloads.com up and running ever again. This is very disappointing.

Well, I can still find the KoTN disc in shops, so if you can get ot a games store have a look around.

But yeah, Battlehorn is lost until Obliviondownloads.com comes back, and that doesnt seems likely to happen.

All the more reason for those of us who have the DLCs to make sure our backups are solid!

Also, lesson to learn. Buy retail disc. Don't get lazy and buy a downloadable version.

Bethesda likely stopped manufacturing those DLC discs after they released the GOTY edition. It was only a matter of time before the surplus supplies ran dry.

[EDIT] It does appear you can still buy the KOTN and DLCs from the BethStore https://orders.gamesas.com/store/ though according to the FAQ you may have to buy it and wait to see if the order is canceled to find out for sure if it's in stock.

For the price they want on that website, you could go to Best Buy and get the GOTY package for $30 and have all the important stuff covered.

Relevant because that's what leads to not being able to find a copy. Folks just need to take a trip down to their local gaming store and buy retail. It's the only way to be safe from distribution sites getting closed down.

Agreed, most of the other DLC are easily made unnecessary by superior mod alternatives.

A post I made in one of these topics on a different forum:
Plenty of (MUCH BETTER) mod alternatives:

Mehrunes Razor: Dremora Companion, it even has a summonable Mehrunes Razor with the same effect... Also Servant of the Dawn.

Spell tomes:Less Annoying magic experience. It has two optional plugins which do this. One that adds spell tomes to the leveled list and one that adds static spell tomes which give powerful spells, you find them by solving riddles made by a new member in the Skingrad mages guild. So far no one has found them all.

From this topic:
http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1055798

"DLC Horse armor - http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26788 and
http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21526
DLC Thieves den - http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21767
DLC Orrery - http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20799 for Dwemer stuff
DLC Battlethorn castle - There are number of great castle mods; Seaview, Glenvar, I don't know..."

Just look here:
http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1010109

There's probably a whole list of mods for the every specific things that the DLC do.

Yep. For the smaller DLCs, the only two I ever thought were worth it were Mehrunes Razor and Battlehorn Castle. The rest I could care less about, but got when I bought KOTN on disc anyway, so I installed them.

Considering that the DLCs are buggy pieces of garbage (they have a much higher bug to content ratio than any user made mod not created by an absolute beginner [e.g. making all Daedric Axes unuseable, possibly killing the Mages Guild questline, main features plainly broken, etc]), with some nice meshes as only redeeming factor. I think Bethesda does people a favor by not offering them anymore.

I've got the KotN disc myself, and after testing them (and experiencing their "quality") I decided to not run any of them.

Besides I've heard a couple of times that you can get them now through online distribution methods like Steam or D2D. This was mentioned a couple of times in the forums. Haven't verified it, though, because I don't exactly care. As I said, it's good that they're no longer available.

I got Battlehorn when it was free and keep a back up on an external hard drive, and then I got the rest on the Knight's of the Nine disk. I installed them all but the horse armor was so bugged I couldn't use it. The rest were nice, but nothing to write home to mother about, as the saying goes. All but one DLC are house mods and a quick trip to Oblivion's Real Estate will show that there are vast numbers of modder created house mods that are far superior. So there are better mods out there that do the same job as the Official DLC's, go get those.

Personally I really hope they go the Shivering Isles route and not the DLC route with TES 5. Expansions are so much more worth it.

No. The moral of the story is back your [censored] up. Don't tell people they're lazy just because they buy stuff online.

There are things you cant buy on a local store especially if you live in the 3rd world. Download is only the way for most of the people living outside a rich country. So saying that they are lazy is just wrong.

Bought the DLCs online. Downloaded. Played.
Reinstalled computer. Asked for keys again. Played.
Reinstalled computer. Asked for keys. Played.
bought PC with Vista. Couldn't download anymore the DLCs.
Bought KOTN disk... Now I play Orery, Mehrunes and KOTN.
Waste of money time and nerves.
The guys around have more than a TB worth of mods, most of them better than Mom Beth's DLCs. :D
Nice armor from KOTN though. Of course with EVE-Knights.esp over it :D

And yeah, I have 6-7 backups around. Every little helps.

Reality hurts. I've spoken to enough retailers to know they wish people would stop doing that so they could stay in business. It isn't just the game developers who benefit from buying retail. You benefit, by having a hardcopy disc which won't just up and vanish on you because a website went down, the retailer benefits by making profits to keep his doors open and folks in jobs, and the people who duplicate discs for a living get to keep their jobs. It's a winning situation for all involved that way.

A quick look on Google brought up dozens of links for retail copies of the KOTN collection:

http://www.everythingplay.com/product/The-Elder-Scrolls-IV-Oblivion--Knights-Of-The-Nine-Expansion-Pack/101806.html

http://www.specialtysoftware.co.uk/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=595&aff_code=gg

There were many more.

If you don't want to clutter your house with retail disks, http://www.direct2drive.com/Search.aspx?SearchTerm=knights%20of%20the%20nine have it for $20. That's actually where I got it from - and they let me redownload it after changing computers.

If you don't think the DLCs are worth the price, that's fine: you don't have to buy them. I have bought them twice - once for the PC, and again for the xbox 360. Individually I wasn't too worried about owning e.g. the Wizards' Tower, but as a collection I thought it was a good deal. On the console, of course, there are no mods - so, like the majority of players who aren't on PC, I was grateful for the extra housing options and gameplay.

For those who couldn't get the battlehorn castle, may i recommend this mod (for those who can of course)

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=3823

It's called Castle Almgrad and was made by some of the best modders in the oblivion modding community, it reaches and exceeds everything about the DLC castle.
