Any nVidia GTX 560 users out here?

Hey guys! I just bought a 730W Power supply from Newegg (Thanks for the heads up! Would have really svcked to have gotten it and then find out it doesn't run :P), here's the supply!

Pretty good from what I see!

That's a http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx. I wouldn't let that touch my system's case with a 10' pole. My recommendation is to cancel/return and get a PSU that is no worse than a Tier 2b PSU if possible.

Also, I'm running a system with 2x SLI GTX 560TI 2GB Palit cards. I was running Skyrim at 5760x1080 resolution on Ultra settings with high-res texture mods installed. I was getting 40+ fps consistently.

The 12V rail on that PSU shows 24A, but your card needs 30A. You have 2x12V of 24A so maybe you'll be fine, but to be honest, I'm not certain how that works. Maybe check with a local computer store and find out if you need a dedicated 30A+ 12V rail? A 12V rail is basically a cable that connect to the card directly, giving it power other than what the board supplies. My understanding is you need it to have a minimum of what the card requires. My card needs a 12V rail of 22A, and that's exactly what my PSU shows, so I know I'm fine, but in your case, I'm not certain.

EDIT: I did a little more reading, and if I understand it correctly, you'll be fine. I wouldn't go SLI with that board though (2 cards) without doing a little more research. But just the one, it looks like you'll be ok cause you have 2x 6 pin connectors that you need to connect, and they're both 24A = 48A total, more than enough. Actually, I don't think you'd be able to add a second card with that PSU. But as it stands, you'll be fine :)

I'm running a GTX 480 but have already bought a 560ti 2win (two 560s on the same card, a single card Sli) but I haven't installed it yet because, given the current state of support for Skyrim Sli (and Crossfire) I'm not sure it will add that much to the game ( it will Fold like a banshee though!) So I've been reading up on 560s in general and I may miss the extra half gig of memory that the 480 has. Here's a good link -

http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/28691-nvidia-geforce-gtx-560-ti-vs-gtx-460-1gb-clocks/

The 560 runs on the GF114 (current gen) architecture whereas the 460 runs on the GF104 (last gen) architecture. Of course the next gen is always right around the corner (600 series soon)!

Undo that as soon as you're able dude. I didn't even go look up the specs first since there are a number of very serious concerns noted in the customer reviews for it.

"...the 12v rails are sort of under powered to provide ample power to higher end Graphics Cards. If you have a 570 or higher or a 6870 or higher, this PSU will not provide proper power your card requires to function properly."

"Says it can do SLI or Crossfire, but doesn't take into fact that almost all decent video cards require 2 connectors"

" few weeks of having this thing I power my computer and it makes a huge buzzing sound, followed by smoke, and blowing the circuit on the left side of my house!"

Avoid that thing like the plague.

Edited:
Just to clarify a bit you may be a lucky one and get from a batch made half way decent, or get from a batch that will make you regret every laying eyes on that thing.

Like I said in my original post never skimp with a power supply....

This is what is powering my Rig.....http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139022&Tpk=cosair%20850

Notice the 12 volt rail...+3.3V@30A, +5V@30A, +12V@70A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@3.0A

Not a bad price either I paid more...Runs my Rig just fine..

I am running my 560ti with a 850 watt Cosair PS. never skimp on name or size when it comes to a Power supply!!

I ran yesterday (Skyrim) for 15.5 hours straight!! Running 30-45 FPS the entire time. Ultra set in Settings for Game with AA & AF off. using Nvidia Inspector to force...

2x supersampling
8x AA
16x AF

This keeps me at a constant FPS took some serious testing to find a level that kept the card running what it could.

Great setup! Imho if you overclock a bit more your cpu you'll get much better fps, and not only in skyrim! I think you could reach 3.5ghz with no probs ;)

BTW your 560 reaches 82 degrees at full load?
