Anybody going to bother with dawn guard

there comes a point in which you can realize arguing with some people is pointless, the reason they can talk so loudly is because they've never learned how to listen.
The force is strong in this one.

Your using a PC to post aren't you? No I dont have an XBox. I am a PC only gamer.

You payed for Skyrim, period, which is still being patched. The speed of patching is questionable. You have invested nothing in Dawnguard, so you deserve nothing. That is how this game is played. You wait just like me. If you still want the DLC when its released, that is your prerogative.
I'm actually posting on PS3 , and yeah skyrim is geting patched but how long is it taking , we as PC and PS3 users do deserve Dawn Guard dlc quicker , you as a PC user have already got the 1.6 update mods and we PS3 users get told to wait even longer for 1.7 patch, at least you have got to play around with until Dawn Guard dlc is released .
As of being (deserve) i think anyone who purchased Skyrim deserves Dawn Guard dlc because of all the glitches and bugs we as fans have had to put up with .

While I'm a big Beth fan (I love the Fallout and TES games) I have to say my interest has dropped immensely for Dawnguard.

Had it released along with the 360 version I would have snapped it up while I was still in my hyped up state, but after buying so many quality games on the Steam summer sale I find it hard to justify spending $20 on a paltry DLC.

I'm still interested but I won't be buying it until it's discounted at the next sale.

hi guys just read the tweet from bethesda and i'm very disappointed in hearing we are not geting the 1.7 patch until a couple of weeks, its just a joke that bethesda is treating fans like myself literally like crap ,

No word on the Dawn Guard dlc , everyone knows its coming with the 1.7 patch , thats why they are holding it back , if bethesda is trying to sell more copys of Dawn Guard dlc and future games , there doing it the wrong way and they call themselves a business and care about the fans , what a joke they are just interested in making there wallets larger and keeping Microsoft happy

Why do people seem to think that dawnguard is coming with the 1.7 patch? That makes no sense and has no real basis. 1.7 contains a fix for a few dawnguard-related things. That's all. Dawnguard itself is built upon the 1.6 patch, which we already have.

I bought it on Xbox and i wish i've never done it.
Boring (story, NPCs and dull new environments), bugged and really too expensive.

We're really far from an "Old world blues" kind of DLC quality.

I'll get it when i can get it for 10€ or less. For the crossbows and modding potential only, mind you

We're really far from an "Old world blues" kind of DLC quality.

That's a good thing, with it's ridiculous enemies spawning right in front of you with hitpoints that make Albino Radscropions look reasonable. And the excessive [censored] jokes :pinch:

Still the SCIENCE! was fun, and the overarching DLCs sideplot parts were good. And even with it's excessive [censored] jokes it was better written than Skyrim :hehe:

Oh no, you have to wait for something. I got a box of tissue just in case.

BethesdaGS IS a business, so yes, their main goal is to get money. Surprise surprise.

No one is knocking them for doing what is in their best interest to make money, that is not the heart of his complaint I believe (or it shouldn't be). Bethesda has every right to make exclusivity deals, but the way they have handled this patching business has struck me as more than odd, and I sympathize with PS3 owners that just want the DLC that fixes some issues and adds mounted combat. That complaint is wholly valid. When you get down to brass tacks, the issue is that the game has been promised support, which HAS been delivered I realize, but it hasn't felt in anyway as aggressive or comprehensive as it should be. I still can't unlock the back door in Solitude when I buy the house. I still can't cure lycanthropy without NPC's and the game timer considering me a werewolf. Little things, yes, but the devil is in the details my friend.

It's funny. I knew *exactly* what the OP was all about just by reading the subject of the thread.

I already did "bother with" Dawnguard on the Xbox and I will most certainly "bother with" it again when I finally comes out on PC.

I don't care that Bethesda hasn't talked about it. I don't care about having to wait.

We, as fans, deserve NOTHING more than what Bethesda is OBLIGATED to do for us. And do you know what they are OBLIGATED to do after you have bought Skyrim? Nothing.

depending on the contracts signed with sony and ms, they in fact, are obligated to support skyrim. for how long is unknown. not to mention todd's own words, saying they are dedicated to making skyrim the best running game (for beth) and that they are committed to eliminating all the bugs (i certainly don't believe todd, but no one forced him to make those outrageous statements; promises are self imposed obligations. who did he promise something to? the fans).

and considering there will be another xbox exclusive dlc, they are obligated to produce it.

so yes, beth does have obligations.

also, just ask this simple question: 'if beth was not obligated to make patches, would beth make patches?'

Since when did the cosumer become the party who has to put up with the corporation.
Seriously i dont blame beth for making the deal, I blame them for the lack of interest they show to realease it for other consoles, with comments ive seen its as if they just dont care.

What's with all of these self-entitled brats complaining all the time on these forums?? I come here to share information, not to read all of these "poor me, nothing is perfect" posts. Beth isn't obligated to do anything.

Will I bother with Dawnguard? Until they release a GOTY edition that I can buy pre-owned, no.
Will I bother with Skyrim? Until they bring a patch that makes it up to date with the other platforms, no. Until they patch it so that I can actually finish the Civil War questline, no.

I'd say Sony probably have a hand in the delay non-existence of the 1.6 patch - but even when patches have been delayed for PS, there has been usually a few days at most. Sony might shoulder some of the blame, but something stinks higher up the ladder if you ask me.

It's a good dlc, I will admit a bit buggy but honestly I found NV to be far buggier, at least in fallout 3 I could use vats without it freezing my character in mid-fight while every enemy around me beat me down. The only freezing I've experienced in Skyrim before or after Dawnguard was when I use my ritual power in crowded rooms, and only then if there were alot of npcs using magic aswell. You can gripe about the time it takes to release it for your prefered system, but if they put it out tomorrow you would gripe that they released it before it was cleared of bugs. The same thing was said when NV came out. My question is why gamers of this generation seem so entitled.

At this point, I don't expect I'll be getting any Skyrim DLC until I can either get it in a GOTY edition, or (more likely) getting it on the PC. I currently don't have a good PC that could run Skyrim (I have a macbook because of FCP), but if/when I get one, I'll probably buy Skyrim GOTY during Steam's summer sales like they had this year. Until then though, I think this is going to have to be a pass.

Personally, I find the theme of Dawnguard very uninteresting and excessively adolescent.

I would be quite pleased, if Dawnguard somehow vanished, and Bethesda were able to better focus on fixing the core game. However, as that may be a bit unlikely, the second best thing might be if they just get it soon released and out of the way.
