Interesting. No i haven't seen it. I restarted steam just now but it doesnt pop up.

Definitely encouraging though. I imagine they will fire up the engines later tonight or early tomorrow.

The Pre-load will be up in a few hours at most i think. Pete Hines has confirmed it's in the process of going through on his twitter.

If you own Steam and have the Cd key validated....

Run "steam://install/72869" in a web browser (Chrome is a bit iffy) And it begins the Preload process, but i get an error because the files are not available yet. I'm in Europe, so even if the Pre-load begins Stateside it usually takes a little extra time for the files to be transferred to Europe for our pre-loads to begin. It really depends on who at Valve is uploading the stuff, and what method they choose, some wait for all the files to be in place world wide before initializing the Pre-load.

That's only if you've already paid and preordered from Steam correct?

There was a guy worried about this, actually. He made a thread about being worried about everyone trying to load the game at once on the release day. Sadly though, the thread was locked because of the people commenting. Glad to see bethesda anticipated this.

You can't PRE-LOAD a RELEASED game. It makes no sense. You wouldn't be "PRE" loading... you'd be DOWNloading the full thing.

So yes, you HAVE to pre-order, in order to pre-load.

If you have entered your Cd Key on Steam then you will be able to pre-load as soon as it goes up.

YES

the hard copy already comes with the game. pre-loading means downloading 99% of the game's files. the other 1% comes at unlock time.

I preordered it, but never received a CD key. There was just order number in the confirmation e-mail. I am talking about a digital copy of course.

Doesn't seem like Steam's servers are overloaded at all. I suspect, for some reason, that's just the response sent when you try to install a game whose preload is not yet available.

That's the message everyone is getting, because the pre-load has not actually begun yet.

I get the same "too busy" error.

For pre-loaded games, if they're only missing the .exe file, does that mean we can at least peruse the manual, listen to the soundtrack, watch .bik video, etc.?

Don't quote me on this, but if memory serves, pre-loaded content is delivered in a single encrypted file which is later decrypted and un-packed when the game is finally unlocked.

It's been a long time since I've pre-ordered anything on Steam, however, so I may be incorrect.

Game guide? what game guide?

if you want access to the game guide, you'll have to pay about 30 bucks at primagames.com hehe

hopefully the manual isnt encrypted. something tells me it will be though
