Unfortunately. :(

I guess I should stop stalling and try this game... if it doesn't make me cry waterfalls like Kanon then I'll be back for a refund. :gun:

Well I put about 6 hours into it so far. It appears I ended up with Emi's story? This game hardly has any choices so I am not sure how I ended up with her. I do like Emi and Rin the best though.

Funniest moment so far was when Rin walked in on Emi and the main guy(forget his name somehow) "I saw a cloud."

After I do Emi, Rin is def next.

I am just curious how did I even end up with Emi? There could not of been more than 5 choices to make in the six hours I played. I played these kind of games before and there are usually more choices. I need to know how to make sure I get Rin next time.

Here are two flowcharts that should help you. http://filesmelt.com/dl/KatawaShoujoFlowchartv20.png this one is a bit more cleaner and easier to read then the next one, but I don't know if it's completed. http://i.imgur.com/t58gW.png this one is messy as hell and hard to follow, but it's completed. Hope that helps

Yeah, I just found these. I ended up finishing my Emi playthrough and just got to chapter 2 for Rin... This thing is way too damn addicting, def calling it quits for tonight... I doubt any of these other ones will beat Emi though... If all the stories are that good I will be pretty damn impressed.

I learned how I ended up with Emi on my first playthrough, though. Seems to be the easiest to get because picking just one choice will overwrite all the others and give you Emi.

I'm a real svcker for these romance games.

no issue pointng people in the right direction, but telling them how to get the good ending kinda ruins it.

The only one I have seen people always complain about is the writing for Shizune.

Hanako, just wait for Hanako's path :D

Just out of curiosity what do you all think of the little end of Act 1 cinematics?

Only saw Emis, and hanako's, liked hanako's best.

i think Hisao is the most unlikable caracter I have ever seen. He has a heart condition, and he only tries to improve his fitness in Emi's path. Then you have the downright stupid and creepy moments.
Spoiler
"Oh she trusts me and is showing her scars on her back. Well this is good a time as any" *removes pants*

Or him not picking up on Emis father being dead.

What songs did you like ?
I liked the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARR02AZtaZw music. Stride, Cold iron, and quite a few others. ws suprised by the music in the game.

His pushing himself with Emi when he needs to be more cautious made me laugh, I'd done something similar. Couple of years ago now I had minor surgery on a minor tachycardia AVNRT and made just as dumb and careless decisions as Hisao had the choice of doing. That connection to the character certainly drew me in more but it also made me laugh when others would think "How can you be so dumb?!?!".

Particularly fond of Painfull History, Moment of Decision, Shadow of the Truth (gets it's best use in Rin's path) and Cold Iron. I like the melodrama  Red Velvet's great for me as well as I love jazz.

Lilly's Act 1 end animation is really sweet, it does spoil quite a lot of the subsequent path - at least in general tone but looks great. Kind of sums up Lilly's path in many ways, it's a slow burner that manipulates the player subtly for most of the way through before essentially punching them full force in the face and shouting at you "THIS IS THE MOMENT" you're in for a treat on that path.

Man I got to agree about Hisao. Some of the crap he says during Emi's route... Especially when Emi finally tells him her secrets and lets him help her. He is just like "Of course." Like it is some casual moment! As it was said in the game, the guy has not tact!

I dont watch anime, and dont play creepy six games. I enjoyed the game. six is a very small part of the game, like in mass effect. Also there is a disable advlt content option.
I think you should try the Hanako path, there the six part is story related. Emi's I didnt see the purpose, aside from humor.
Also the game is free, your not loosing out by trying it. Think of it as a demo, after reading this I am considering looking more into VNs. If you dont like it, nothing lost... Well aside from time.

It depends less on whether you like anime and more on are you likely to enjoy a romance?

Ratslayer - Give Narcissu a try, it's a free release, sadder in tone than KS but still very good. Then if you're feeling like bawwwwwing - Kana Little Sister. For another Western made VN "don't take it personally, babe, it just ain't your story" by Christine Love is also worth playing.

Funny, I have tried it out and found it to be a greatly enjoyable experience. Still haven't initiated any of the romances, but so far, the writing is good, the characters are interesting and believable, a good musical score and art... overall I must say I am very pleasantly surprised.

When I saw some news about it, I must admit that, out of ignorance, my first thought was something along the lines of "Blergh, I can't believe those pervs at [censored] made this...". The idea I had of dating sims was basically hentai porm with some kind of "backstory" to it... How I was mistaken :-/ This visual novel (which is also a genre new to me, only played Phoenix Wright, and I don't even know if that counts eheh) actually has some quality to it.

ps: Although I am a bit afraid of reaching the "six scenes"... if they aren't really tastefully done, my opinion on the game will probably change.

hmmm its free so I will look into it, but feel tired today, may LD tomorrow or something.
Isnt the "dont take it personally" oe something another guy refferenced, then creeped out someone else. What is it about ? I know what narcissu is about roughly.

I may look into more VNs, just want to avoid the ones that are just about six or some other crap. I like the stories and writing, of KS, so thats all I want from VNs. I men I have read books and never gave a dmn about characters dying, but KS had me feeling depressed pretty quickly. (Devs are clearly feminists, using psychic spies)

The six scenes are pretty tasteful. Nothing more than briasts are shown. I was a bit surprised at the Emi route though... That chick is insane...

Narcissu is about a boy and a girl on a terminal ward on a hospital and how they choose to take control of their lives. If you get the Narcissu 2nd release then you get the prequel as well as the original together. There's a number of translations and voice acting for the girl. Really sad at times but very well done.

Don't take it personally has more interaction, set in a school where you take on the role of a teacher, the crux of the game though is the role of social networking and monitoring, it's handled in quite a satirical way at times and sensitively at others. Not bad but it's not designed to be a tear jerker.

Kana can be a pain to get working and it feels more like reading with a backdrop than the sprites in the forground, dialogue going back and forth of the other titles. The synopsis though would spoil it for you. Trying to keep it brief it's coving illness, understanding and a forbidden relationship. Very well done and at times very very sad.

There is a picnic, just not a manly one.

Depends on the route taken, they are more graphic in some of the paths, they don't come across and tacky or exploitative though which is a good thing I felt.

Emi's scenes left me in tears of laughter. That face in particular. Needless to say. We're never doing that again.

Just finished Rin's route(good ending), and that girl drives me insane reading her text. It also took FOREVER to get to the romance part. Rin is pretty interesting, though... She is just way to... out of it.

totally was not expecting to find a KS thread here. color me impressed.

KS is dope. easily one of the best OELVNs around (which unfortunately doesn't mean very much since outside of Christine Love's stuff OELVNs are pretty much universally garbage). i don't have enough experience with VNs as a whole to make a claim any stronger than that, but i like it about as much as i like Saya no Uta, which is an awful lot.

also Lilly > Rin > Hanako = Emi > Shizune.
