Anyone else kind of disappointed?

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 11:39 pm

Don't get me wrong I LOVED Dawnguard, especially because Serana is hot and she owns. I did both sides of the quests, and this is where my problem lies.. I wish there were more variety. There was very little differences in between the two storylines, which disappointed me. I expected it to be two completely different things, apart from the end. Am I the only one who felt this way? I really wish the two sides were more like the Imperials/Stormcloaks.

... But the Imperials and Stormcloaks are pretty much the same. You capture basically the same forts, etc.

Serana is hot

Really, she repulses me...

anyway I am a 'lil' bit annoyed at the story being so thin, but TBH what did you expect from beth. Still fun though.

Once again Bethesda provides a lack-luster experience that feels rushed and lacking in content. By signing the contract with Microsoft, they agreed to work on a deadline they could not control. 2K Games, as a publisher, on the whole, are lenient on deadlines and may even not make one for developers, such as the case in Borderlands. Also, they usually won't rush a developer to get a game out quickly for more money. Quality is what matters and I agree with OP; it was good but left me feeling disappointed. I blame them signing a deal with the devil, i.e Microsoft and Xbox Live. It's not the developers fault, they needed more time. I feel.

Then again, the whole deal with the Imperial/Stormcloaks was just pure, utter laziness.

Honestly, I only do about half way through the Stormcloaks (6ish months ago) and what I vaguely remember it was mostly different, sorry if wrong.

Its basicly a few "take this fort" missions for both sides and a couple of identical quests (like "Find this crown").

You liked the DLC because a character was "hot". Wow >_>

Partly, also the first companion who didn't svck. I loved the storyline too, but I hated how going with the DG/Vampires, it was mostly all the same.

In some ways I do if I compare it to the SI DLC in Oblivion. The vampires are cool but there isn't great story depth in my opinion. I would have liked more of an epic battle between the Dawnguard and the Vampires. Maybe having to gain allies for the battle. I had vampires send underlings to kill me but I did not get the option for revenge (at least not yet). I know they couldn't make things too drastic as they have further DLC coming but I was hoping for a deeper conflict and more snow elves

Dawnguard felt like unfinished stuff bethesda was working on for vanilla skyrim. Most of the side quests took me to vanilla caves and dungeons. Just didn't feel all that new.

I for one believe the story was well written, although they could have made an effort on seperating the two sides.
But other than that the DLC added a ton of new content.

I expected little from this DLC, and was not disappointed. The only part I truly enjoyed was the Touching the Sky quest. Born from that quest was the greatest anticlimix I have seen in a while.

It just felt dull. Quite forgettable honestly.

Just my opinion, but I don't feel disappointed in the slightest bit. I think the expansion was integrated very well into vanilla Skyrim, and I thought that both sides of the main questlines were well written and well executed.

Aside from the minor bugs/glitches that we hunted down and ferreted out in the Beta, I don't have a single issue with the expansion.

I concur with Uriel, so far I think the expansion was quite good, I'd put it slightly below SI, and that in and of itself gives it high marks. Keep going Bethesda, you'll have one happy customer in this guy.

Only thing I disliked was lack of upgradeable castles/new homes, no marry serana, and lack of end game reward. Still, all the new missions and locations, weapons and perk trees made it all worth it to me. I'd give it an 8 out of 10. Scratch that, 9 out of 10 for Serana :)

Exactly.

If the next DLC/Expansion (Hearthfire for all we know...) is anything close to Dawnguard in size and quality... I might not get around to playing Halo 4 for over a year.

Dawnguard seriously reignited my heroin-like addiction for Skyrim, and the series as a whole. :D

I honestly dont even feel excited for Halo 4. I'm more excited for the next Skyrim dlc, and the potential of it. Especially if the next 1 will be the size of Shivering Isles. Still gonna get Halo 4 just because though.

and the potential of it.

If you start hypeing yourself your bound to be disapointed. Try not to dream up the perfect DLC, its not realistic.

I wont be disappointed. Anything that they put out to expand my favorite game is fine to me.

I still have my Halo 4 Collector's Edition preordered and all, but if Bethesda keeps producing amazing DLC like Dawnguard... well, it will be quite a long time before any other game graces my Xbox disc tray.

My friends on Xbox said they were gonna get me an intervention, since I dont play multiplayer games nearly as much anymore since skyrim and dawnguard came out. I played a little before, but Dawnguard gave me that Skyrim bug again. They just dont understand.... :(
