Anyone else realize that Skyrim is just a game?

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 5:38 pm

Yup, Skyrim is just a game. Incidentally, a diamond is just a rock, a Ferarri is just a car and an aircraft carrier is just a boat, too.

QFT :)

Incidentally, I think of any RPG as a form of interactive storytelling, not just a game; a means by which I can truly enter another world.

You read a forum with a focused and moderated topic and think people don't do anything else?

It′s not a game. It′s an experience. An experience of epic, of heros and great battles, mighty creatures, a vast world to be explored, magic, combat, crime and right, good and evil and DRAGONS.
Did I mention this experience will last for several years?
THIS is what Skyrim is.

I'm ultra excited for Skyrim, I cannot wait. But it's not my life. Reading these boards..some of you people honestly scare me.

This is just a game, it's not life. I'd be bummed if I couldn't play, but I'd move on.

Anyone else realize that Skyrim is just a game and it's not the most important thing? Ive waited for 3 years for this..cant wait. But it is just a game..

What if he is the master chief? That would be pretty embarrassing. Think before you post!

Master chief is in space, light years away, in cryo-stasis as we speak. Your argument is invalid :)

I'm retired. Aside from the erection part, I will play nonstop for several weeks. 8-15 hrs a day. Every day.

I have nothing to do but wait. While I'm waiting, Ill be playing Skyrim.

Exactly, Skyrim is only a video game, so it shouldn't dominate one's day to day affairs. It will however, dominate my Friday, the weekend, and next week, for the most part. Thankfully, I won't be particularly busy this weekend, so I'll have plenty of time to mess around on Skyrim, but life comes first; whatever that may entail is for you to figure out, whether it involves your social life, your scheduled tasks, and your studying if you are a student. Life is what we're about; that is why we are on Earth, to live life, not to waste it and decay. We must experience life, but there will be plenty of room for Skyrim if you allow for it.

There are worse things to get excited about. May I admit that I miss standing in line at midnight for Harry Potter books? This makes up for it a little.
