Anyone elses curious about the Sphere from the original?

I'm glad the sphere is gone, or else we'd only be shooting frozen Koreans and those boring old aliens in a giant nuke crater. With the Nanosuit 1.
A comic book is excellent because there's no gameplay, and it can portray the story better. :)

Besides, now we can pick up and throw skyscraqers in a destroyed 2013 NYC.

But in a comic, you can't live the story and might even get too lazy to finish it due to the fact you know they'll see each other New York City again. Don't forget in the E3 3D Trailer we saw Prophet, meaning neither the sphere was destroyed or the aliens attacked further.

Crysis 1 story and warheads one has more plotholes than swiss **** cheese
i just hope the events in between will be properly explained

and the MP seems to be simplified in favor of gameplay but im afraid a lot of first day crysis players will miss the intense pace of the MP and the mobility of running, strafing etc

oh dear... seeing all the posts here makes me laugh hard. you haven't seen any footage that isn't nearly in alpha stage so you can't judge it. Why do you even judge it? why do some of you give their fandom up before that freakin game even came out? why can't you wait that 4 months? and more important: in wich points was crysis 1 better? the main things you did in crysis 1 was spending half of the game in cloak mode, because the armor mode couldn't block up to 5 shots. they didn't remove speed or strengh. they put it into ONE secondary mode. removing prone? good step if you ask me. though its not sure if they actually did. you only proned when the energy was drained and you hid in a bush. there are so many improvements which aren't even mentioned in this thread.

back to sphere: i hope they will make a playable passage of what happened after the first game. that cliffhanger was too much and they have to answer some questions i have. and the characters have to return. the rest of raptor team and maybe helena too. but i don't really miss the sphere... it's not that they... or... will they? second sphere in NY? naaah... they won't do something like that... will they?

If we didn't judge this game before release, it would end up like sh*t because Crytek wouldn't know how they can improve the title.

Crysis 1 looks much better so far in respect to the points that it is graphically better at this point, the openness of the first game that seems to be completely removed in Crysis 2. In the demo gameplay, the Crytek demonstrators say this is a good example of a choreographed sandbox level, when it was in reality just a corridor point a to point b sort of thing.

Speed and strength have been moved over as default features of the Nanosuit 2, making speed cost energy whenever you sprint (horrible idea), and strength whenever you jump (hold for higher jumps).

In addition to all the features Crytek has maimed from Crysis 2, the plot is barely even related (if at all) to the original. The plotholes will NOT be filled in Crysis 2, and that is severely disappointing to all of us that bought the original and enjoyed it.

It's been mentioned in several different reviews and interviews that parts [arbitrary measurement, don't read into it] of the C1 storyline will be filled in during C2. Almost none of C2's storyline has been released so there's still a lot yet to be revealed!

Have a listen to how Cevat describes choreographed sandbox in this interview:

You make it sound like Crytek don't know how to develop AAA titles :) If you compile all the footage and info that has been released so far, i don't believe we've seen much of the total picture yet at all. Second to this, the footage that we have seen is from pre-alpha builds that are over 6 months prior to release date so i have no doubt the quality bar will continue to be raised across the board in that time.

Still 6 months to go though. The pre-alpha material is still un-available for testing except for the Xbox 360 Mp Test.

Crysis is my favorite shooter this gen, I've played through the first half of the game more times than I can count, but story-wise I honestly couldn't care less. The original Crysis' story was about as cliche and uninteresting as it gets.

Hopefully Richard Morgan will deliver a great story for Crysis 2.
