Anyone pity Bethesda?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 1:27 pm

Now that many gamers have Skyrim on Xbox due to early release by stores, a lot of them are uploading playthrough videos online. You'll easily find many many videos being uploaded EVERY hour on many websites. Anyone here pity Bethesda having to spend 24hrs a day finding and deleting these videos until 11/11/11? Bethesda only has so limited employees available to do this and there's probably thousands of gamers uploading Skyrim playthrough videos every hour lol.

I don't even want to see those vids. Why would anyone who hasn't played the game want to watch that? They can upload as much as they want, I'm not even going to search for them

i also feel sorry for them because alot of the things they were keeping quiet about have been posted on the forums (many of which end up in general discussion) .. its bad that they've kept things back ,which would greatly increase the hype for the game, so that people playing the game will have a chance to discover more

A month ago I decided to not watch ANY material from the game. It's enough for me. Time to try the game by my very own.

Bethesda is probably cheering because that's like free advertisemants for their game.

No, because it's not Bethesda that will be hunting them down, it's Zenimax that will hunt them and Youtube has been given information by Zenimax lawyers to block content related to Skyrim untill 11-11-11

It's a good thing only the Xbox version was released early in some countries because if the PC got released someone will have torrented it already. Then that's a huge drop in sales from week 1. I just finished watching part 15 of a let's play Skyrim video. Will keep me entertained until Amazon dispatches my Skyrim for PC on 10/11/11, expecting to arrive on 11/11/11.

I've downloaded a few HD gameplay vids from TPB which didnt contain any spoilers, I stopped searching for more because it got me so stoked on the game that I couldnt get any work done though.

But essentially it seems that people respect that there shouldnt be links to screens and vids on this forum. What people search for on google is their own damn problem, if you dont want to spoil your game experience, dont go browsing the web for unofficial vids.

Uh no. I'm talking about ENTIRE playthroughs. I already watched over 4hrs for example. And although youtube is deleting these videos it's not just youtube people are uploading playthrough videos to. Too many websites to hunt down these videos to delete.

lololol this.

Nothing we've seen so far, including any live streams, will compare to what this game will bring us when it's our and we're playing it.

Yup, I feel so sorry for Bethesda who have already earned millions through pre-orders and will get more from the free advertizing that these video uploads bring.

I don't pity Bethesda at all; rather, I pity those who have such weak willpower they actively seek out these crappy looking videos and encourage piracy and street date breaking by adding hits/clicks to these losers' sites.
