I've been wondering, does playing as an elf get you alot of hatred from the NPC's and Skyrim at large? I've been contemplating an archer character for awhile, but couldn't quite bring myself to roll a wood elf because of the whole Thalmor and Elf overlord thing.

Who uses poison anyways besides the Falmer? Resisting disease is alright, but Argonians have a resistance too. Besides, that ability is easily overshadowed by Lycanthropy. Even if I have no intention of being a Were, that 100% resistance is bonus enough. I personally think the Bosmer got the shaft.

first play through on Skyrim & first time ever as a wood elf. in Morrowind & Oblivion I played as dark elf and nord respectively.

enjoying the wood elf action, even if sneak is allegedly OP - which i think is kinda dumb, but whatever. this is my first time trying to stay "on track" with a character & not try to be good at everything. i sneak a lot, and use my enchanted bow (must say that enchanting seems much more user friendly than past ES titles.) and am able to 1 shot low level baddies, but i still get owned all the time if i get discovered, which is surprisingly often considering that stealth is allegedly OP.

well alot of nords hate you but generally there the people who hate everything beside nord

I can't say for sure about being a High elf but I have never heard any negative comments about being a Bosmer.
