Is anyone playing a Wood Elf? Feedback wanted.

I was thinking about playing Bosmer my next time around, but have not seen many opinions on them. I would love to hear anyone's feedback if you are playing one. Do you like them, and why?

Thanks

I like them
Did in MW and Oblivion too

The control animal ability is better, you can affect creatures worth affecting now
Still not very useful though. When you're facing that awesome bandit leader theres unlikely to be a cave bear around

My last character was a Bosmer, they have always been my favorite race.
Archery and sneak is fantastic together along with alchemy.
Also they have very good racial features such as 50% resitance to disease and poison.
There animal power,I forget what it's called is situational but it has saved my butt a few times.

I never found the Bosmer useful IMO. People such as Orcs have amazing abilities and the Redguard/High Elf/Argonian have really good abilities.

They are no different than any other race, apart from the fact that they are the only elves that look pretty. Just slightly different starting levels and a couple racial abilities that are useless, much like all other racial abilities...

They make awesome Archers. My Wood Elf, Fimmion, specialised purely in archery and levelled up pretty quickly and effectively. Add enchanting to your bows and you can even carry a bow with an added element effect for different kinds of enemy - fire, sparks, ice. I also took on as many light armour and sneak perks as possible. I drop in, unheard, and shoot from range. The combination of stealth and archery gives me an early upper hand.

What,50% resistance to disease and poison is useless?
There command animal is great against snow sabre cats especially at low levels when you would otherwise be reloading youre game for sure.

I started one just to see what it would be like as a warrior class . I use no enchants and play on master . I am not power leveling perks and decided to lean more toward defense in the
beginning . I didn't like this character at all in the beginning but I enjoy the thrill of being mortal now . Its a different style from the Nord I did my first play through with and I am glad I stuck with it .
The positive for me was the better bow skill , meaning at the no perks level , but seems worse at the heavy swords and passable with one handers . All in all I wish I had chosen this build
as my first play through .

After I did exploring with my female woodelf thief, I found a great spot for my male Bosmer (I have not created him yet) in the Rift. So yeah, I enjoy wood elfs. I think I will start that Male bosmer game now.

One of my characters is an unconventional Bosmer, a tank using shield and alteration, starting levels and racial abilities apart there′s no problem building your character into anything you want.

Resistance to poison and disease are far less useful than other resistances though, you rarely get pwned by enemies using poison, enemies using shock on the other hand...

They are crazy violent. I've only run across a few but they've all attacked the crap out of me.

I switched to Dark Elf as it suited my playstyle better, but Wood Elf was also fun.
As far as the racial ability, I did have a funny moment. I used it to charm a troll once, and used him to kill another troll. That was pretty interesting, but one of the few times it was anywhere near useful.

Anyone using skill bonuses as justification for choosing a race are severely overestimating the impact of starting stats/skills. The power to command animals is meh. If you like the way they look, go with it. I could never get one I was happy with. The first Preset at character creation looks like Willem Dafoe.

majority in my character in Morrowind and Oblivion was Bosmer, in Skyrim I prefer Khajiit as they look very good at last and the night eye ability is real nice, has not found it as an spell and to toggle it on and off with Z is priceless.

I'm using the wood elf and im loving it. Love archery then go for the wood elf. I spend hours just huntin and exploring. They're quick and nimble and pretty handy in a tight fight, especially with high archery perks

I'm playing for my first time with a Wood Elf. I chose it because I thought it looked cool.... plus I figured the "Control Animal" spell would come in handy... haven't tried it yet. I'm only about 12 hours into the game but focusing on Archery, Stealth and Magic.

I'm playing a wood elf. My first ever in fact. I quite like him, he suits the play style / roleplay I'm going for this time.

He's a thief character, with a little magic. Fights mainly with a dagger and a destruction spell, though he recently picked up a scimitar that he quite likes, and he'll use a bow to get a ranged shot off at an enemy to start a fight. He has no trouble holding his own at close range either. He's no weaker than my nord warrior. They both have their advantages.

Here's a http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Malachi.jpg for anyone who's interested. (I play on 360, I just took a pic of the screen, hence the slight blurriness.)

Just play a Bosmer because you find them interesting. The starting stats only really affect your character when you're starting out. While the racial skills can be nice, most of them are just a weaker version of an ability that all races eventually gain access to.

There's no need to pick a race because you find them more "optimized" for a particular build. I am playing a Nord mainly because the game takes place in Skyrim and I just wanted to be the native race, like my Imperial in Oblivion. I feel like my character has more of a connection with the setting and plot. If I was overly concerned with stats or starting skills, I may have gone with Bretons and their magic resistance, for example, but my Nord warrior can handle things that come his way just fine.

While most of the Bosmer seem to prefer the warmer weather down south, I often sell my dungeon loot to Elrindir, a Bosmer merchant in Whiterun. Bosmer npcs do exist in Skyrim.

I have a bosmer character now and he's level 25 or so.

I don't really notice much difference in play between the various players. He's short.

I played as a bosmer and think its great for if you like being sneaky but not feeling like your character is a race which is there to be a thief type such as khajit (this is if you like having a character which would RP as your playstyle) and good at archery. The only downside to them for me is like many other races skyrim is a lonely world with very few other wood elves and also they don't really have an obvious role in skyrim, but this does mean you are free to RP your adventure in any way you want and can justify anything.

my first character was a wood elf of the sneaky, arrow slinging variety and did very well for himself. I've tried many others since while waiting for fixes to progression-halting bugs, but will always call my wood elf my "main" character.

Not everyone wants to become a werewolf or do the companions quest line.
