Anyone prefer Bethesda Softworks to offer better support for

Again, engine support is different from game support.

Using a different engine would require writing everything from scratch, which is not in their best interest. At all. Too many resources are wasted. Why do that when they can simply build upon what they've been using since Morrowind? Which was before Crysis even existed, by the way.

Ok let me try to explain better. The PC version of Crysis 3 uses CryEngine 3. In August Crytek dropped the number support for CryEngine so instead of CryEngine 4 it's just CryEngine these new versions of CryEngine you can use to develop your own custom mods for the PC version of Crysis 3. So if Crytek releases DirectX 12 support for this new CryEngine when Microsoft releases DirectX 12 you can add DirectX 12 to the PC version of Crysis 3 for and play it running on DirectX 12. I have no idea how to explain it any better than this. CryEngine 3 will not support DirectX 12 only this new CryEngine version but it will still be playable on Crysis 3 on CryEngine 3.

I can't explain any better but I use CryEngine quite a few times. I use it to make my own mods and graphical mods and all kinds of stuff I tinker with for Crysis 2 and Crysis 3.

I fail to see what this has to do with the discussion at hand...

Supporting the video games for years. If Crytek can do this with the new versions of CryEngine to work on older video games. Then so can other video game development companies.

As I said I have no clue how to explain in a understandable way. Just know that I use CryEngine quite a few times and know what it's capable of doing and the older video games that run on CryEngine 3.

I don't really care if they add support for 64-bit or new DirectX versions, but they should at least fix the bugs that remain in their games rather than completely abandoning them once they move onto the next project.

Wait. Are you talking about games or products in general?

Unreal Engine isn't a game... It's an actual developing program. (I used it and been working a lot on it).

That was Vista... :D

I know some people have issues running the game on their systems. I am all over the hardware boards and see all the threads in there and know what the problems are that cause this game to not work on 95% of the rigs that are having issues. Remember, we only see the threads from folks who can't get the game running, otherwise why would they make one in the hardware section. However, I think there are some systems that for whatever reason, just can't run these games. I saw a post on these boards about about a guy who built identical systems for himself and his girlfriend. One can run Skyrim, one can not. Same parts, same games, same everything, but one rig can not run it. People make posts all the time about being able to run New Vegas, but not Fallout 3, or the other way around.

I mean, here is a weird one. On Windows7 why do some people have to use compatibility mode, and some do not? And, for those who have to use compatibility mode, why do some need to use XP SP3, and others need to use Vista? It's all down to each unique PC.

All I am trying to say is, for those folks who have issues getting a game to run, it svcks. But, if the game works on 99% of the rigs out there, then there is not much to patch or fix.
