Aedra means "Our ancestors"

Daedra means "Not our ancestors"

There are Aedra that are considered good, and Aedra that are considered bad.

There are Daedra that are considered good, and Daedra that are considered bad.

Different races view the deities differently, as how the Altmer hate Talos while the Nords and Imperials revere him. Khajiit and Dunmer worship Sheogorath, while the other races hate all Daedra. It just depends on the point of view of the race. Dibella is considered to be one of the less "good" Aedra (influences lust) and Talos is the god of War.

"Aedra are associated with stasis. Daedra represent change. Aedra created the mortal world and are bound to the Earth Bones. Daedra, who cannot create, have the power to change. As part of the divine contract of creation, the Aedra can be killed. Witness Lorkhan and the moons. The protean Daedra, for whom the rules do not apply, can only be banished."

Is a star evil when a solar flare from it sterilizes the planet orbiting it? Is a storm that destroys your house evil?

It's like a human walking past a worm on the ground, the human doesn't think too much about it and would care less if a bird swooped down and ate it.

I got that anology from Neil Degrasse Tyson when he was referring to how advanced civilizations on distant solar systems might regard humans in terms of intellectual capacity.
It's the same reason why Stephan Hawkin suggests humans should not try to make contact with advanced life as it might lead to this kind of engagement.

Daedra judged by their actions are mostly evil. Aedra judged by their actions are mostly good. Mainly because they are being judged by humans and elves. In so far as morality is concerned though, and morality is mainly a human (and elven in TES) attribute, then yes, the Daedra are evil. In Oblivion a Daedra, Mehrunes Dagon, tries to destroy the world, whilst it is saved by the divine gift of an Aedra and a willing human sacrifice. It doesn't get much more black and white than this.

Basically how I see them. They only seem "evil" because they are being judged on what the human and elf races see them. I just think they don't give a [censored] about anyone.

They did break their promise but they did it with the honest intention of doing right by their people.
Azura was upset she became an anticipation before her time, it always would have happened but AlmSiVi forced the issue.
Azura had no claim on the Dunmer. She is a Daedra and chose not to participate in Creation, she chose to sit at the sidelines and later she chose to meddle.
The Triune have a more valid claim to their people as at least they are family.
Azura had her time in the sun and should have been content with that, given that she had no real right to it in the first place.

While I think you cant categorise any Daedra (or god for that matter) as evil or good, to me Azura is one of the more malevolent ones.
Meridia is also vainglorious, but at least she is up front about it and about the nature of the deals she makes.
Azura is a bit more seeming one thing while being another to me.

I'm not exactly well-versed in Morrowind lore, what do you mean by "she became an anticipation before her time" and "Tribunal forced the issue"?

Are you saying that "she'll go down eventually, tribunal just sped things up"?

I always think that the problem is more of a personal matter. Azura enjoyed a position as a worshipped god. Tribunal kind of robbed it from her.

Although now that I think about it, only Tribunal knew about what was happening (them challenging Azura), the rest of Chimer didn't knew, did they? I suppose in that way Azura was kind of a jerk, but then again it wouldn't have happened that way had the Tribunal didn't break their promise and challenge Azura. IIRC Azura appeared before them when they're about to use Kagrenac's Tools (or was it after?) and that was the point when they said "we don't need you anymore" and Azura flipped out.
