Are vampires a bit dumb ?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 1:04 pm

From what I can tell the vamps are after some kind of bow that can put out the sun. I dont think they have thought this through at all as it will give them a problem. If the sun goes crops wont grow animals will die then the humans will die then the vamps wont have anyone to feed on. As plans for world domination go its not a great one.

Let's just say, not all of the vampires agree with the plan.

The laws of physics work differently in tamriel. It's a long story, but in short, forget everything you've learned about things. For example the sun isn't a star, it's actually a hole in the sky and planets are actually gods and whatnot. It's crazy.

Also, dark underground caverns are filled with mushrooms and plantlife, so sun isn't needed for life to grow.

This is what I've been saying, Earth isn't Nirn, which is why blotting out the sun would actually be a plausible thing to do.

Or maybe Nirn is ancient Earth, and something is going to happen in the future where all the non-human races either leave the planet or die, Mankind will eventually lose knowledge about the world of ancient Earth, and the continents would change to resemble something more like they are now.

What a Twist.

OR

Maybe Nirn is future Earth. Something from another reality came to Earth and wiped out most of Mankind, this other reality was magical (didn't follow the laws of physics like our world for example), and somehow certain members of this magical reality changed Earth to become more like there World. These invaders used magic to defeat the technological advanced Mankind, but for some reason they hate tech, so decided to knock Mankind down to the stone age, and make sure that they can only advance to Medival level tech (which was the level of tech the invaders had in there reality). These invaders brought members of the non-human races from there world (like elves) and had them colonize future earth. They also changed the continents as well as the entire solar system. Because they used magic to change the world, eventually, humans were able to use magic. And though Mankind forgot his history, there may be pieces left over from the Old World.....maybe a ruined statue of liberty buried in the crust of Nirn?

I know, my mind sure is. In fact maybe something similar to my theory will be how Beth ends there elder scrolls series (if they ever do).

Already you can tell that there are some similarities between the cultures of humanity of Nirn, and the cultures of humanity of Earth, maybe there is a connection.....perhaps a reason for this?

What the players of Skyrim don't know (except me), is that our skyrim characters were on Earth (future or ancient earth, could be either) the whole time....we just didn't know it

To every person their own planet. Technicaly every badguy is an idiot. They always make crazy plans,so Vamps are actualy preety reasonable. Not to mention that the sun was blocked in one of Highlanders movies and everything was fine.

Also, who sayed they would block it off forever? The arows work only for 12hours. More then enough time for Harkons vamps to get themselfs some tralls.

This doesn't make any sense.....according to my studies learned in school and common sense....if you block out the Sun.....life on Earth....i mean Nirn....would die. The planet will become one big ice ball.

The idea that a planet can survive without the sun is against realisim man.

Real world physics are different from Nirn, they do not apply where magic and dragons churn about. And actually, patching up the sun will basically remove a very large hole from mundus. Which is better than the dawnguard's option. Magnus's whistle will no longer allow as much aetherial magicka to seep into mundus, a bad thing to some, a better option for others. The streaming amount after such an event should be equal to what the ayleids harvested within their wells, smaller but still prevalent. For the stars will still be within the night's call, as they are smaller rips into aetherius. Giving those few mages left some source of power.

All life would definitely not be extinct. The aedra operate independently from Magnus's gate, the sun. Kynareth will still be around, Arkay will still be around, Akatosh will still be around, Dibella will still be around, Mara will still be around, Zenithar will still be around, Stendarr will still be around, Julianos will still be around. They support mundus, as long as they are still around, all will be alright. So the argument of 'no sun, no life' is as void as Sithis. I am quite confident they are aware of the circumstance of Aetherius and the cosmos of Magnus, thus putting their plans into motion to blot out the sun, their only greatest celestial enemy.

If the Sun in Nirn is not a star....then it actually isn't a sun. So wouldn't it make more sense to call it something else, a name that isn't "sun"?

On earth millions would die if sun would be blocked, but thousands would adapt and that includes humans. Since thats all we good for aparently. On Nirn nothing would hurt them what would hurt us through laws of physics

We know that TES plants rely on sunlight, even though TES sunlight is something completely different to RL sunlight. So plants and by extension most animals would die. But the Falmer could survive on mushrooms and no sunlight. So the vampires just need to capture enough starving mortals and domesticate them. They don't necessarily need to feed all vampires. Why should the Volkihar care if the Vraseth are starving? Most of them can forget about wild blood though. Free range may be feasible after a few generations and perhaps in time the landscape will be covered with chemoautrophs to replace plants.
That might screw up the atmosphere, but perhaps Kynareth wouldn't allow that. Then again, in recent games she has been described as a nature godess rather than one of air alone, so maybe she does rely on living organisms to balance the composition of the atmosphere.

The real twist is the fact that the entire Elder Scrolls series is all a hallucination/dream playing out in the final dying moments of a hippie as he overdoses on a bad batch of LSD sometime in the late 60's.

The magic, races, cultures and lands are all a strange mix of his childhood fantasies, some basic memories of social studies classes and his subconcious hatred of his mother and minor cat fetish.
