Are you a "stuff" Collector?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 7:46 pm

So in FO3, once I got my house in Megaton and had a place to keep stuff I set about saving at least one of every item I could find. When I found multiples of items, if one was a variation, I.E. two types of the same armor that looked different, I would keep them both. Needless to say by the end of the game I had a LOT of stuff in my house. Anyone else plan on collecting one of everything in game regardless of whether or not their character can actually use it?

I collected twigs a lot in Daggerfall. And I'm still looking for confirmation on whether or not twigs, salt pork, and panties will be in Skyrim or not, but certain haters gonna hate.

Yeah! I did that with Nuka Cola Quantums in FO3 and with the Quartz and Victory in FO:NV

I wasn't too big into collecting other than gems and precious metals in Oblivion.

I usually don't pick something to collect, I just think something is interesting or neat and take them.

I always collected odds and ends.

For instance, I can't help but pick up all the pre-war money, all the cigarrettes (packs, boxes, and even individual ones), penciles, and metro tickets. I basically hunt them down and take every single one I can.

At one time I collected teddybears, and filled almost a whole room with them : D

My motto with that character was "slayer by day, cuddler by night!"

I'm sure I'll be collecting something in this game. In Fallout New Vegas, it was Nuka Colas and Pre-War money. In Oblivion it was staffs from liches and Dwarven equipment.

I enjoy hoarding jewels, soul gems, pelts, arrows, and Mythic Dawn Commentaries. There are other things, but my house is just to full of this stuff. So yes, I consider myself a "stuff" collector. Let's hope I can do the same thing in Skyrim, but with more display cases!

I did a packrat in Morrowind - at the house up North.

It was awful. I finally cleaned house and got rid of it all.

It felt too claustrophic-like. All the clutter drove my packrat insane. Then, my packrat was too depressed and empty feeling with all her life accomplishments gone and she "got disappeared." (deleted)

Yeah, I had so little space in my Rosethorn Manor and was happy to get the castle DLC. Though it does make you look like more of a collector with all that junk crammed and displayed about.

Yeah one of my favorite fallout 3 and NV mods was the underground bunker with the armory and mannequins I would keep trophy's from certain things like boss kills and such. In Oblivion my house was pretty decked out, display cases and such and I even sorted all my books onto the bookshelves which btw took FOREVER and I really hope they improve on using the Z key move system in Skyrim.

I am not a "stuff collector". I sell or throw away unused gear, but I will store unique artifacts once in a while.

My houses are always so cluttered I can barely move. I remember my telvanni tower in Morrowind being positively stuffed. SPOILER-And I did something horrifyingly evil, I soultraqed Almalexia in Azura's star.
I wonder if you can soultrap dragons...

I collect trophies. I spent all kinds of time filling Rosethorn manor with them telling myself the whole time I would show them of to someone. After a few months I hadn't shown anyone my trophies and realized that it was a compulsion. So long story short I joined hoarders anonymous and I've been clutter free for two and a half years now.

LOL I actually did show some of my friends who were interesting in Oblivion. My one friend tried it and said it took too long to do right, and I'm like "You're telling me."

I like your style darlin, that's a great attitude :)

Keep in mind even though I had a TON of..um...Victory ;), I kept it organized. All my armors were in the lockers on the bottom floor. All my craftable junk went in the desk upstairs. All my weapons went into the filing cabinet. Other random stuff I would use to decorate my house, like with the Nuka Cola trucks and toy cars. Sometimes I would set a weapon out for display, like my two fully repaired Gause Rifles.

Hmmm, this leads me to wonder if maybe a NPC thief might try to break into my place and gank my stuff!!! Gonna have to set some traps :toughninja:

Yes. There is a ton of junk, mostly enchanted stuff, in my house in Morrowind. And I've have chests full of various weapons, armor, clothing, scrolls, ingredients, and books, in my homes in Oblivion. I've recently made a conscious decision to start selling things off instead of keeping them or adding to my collection. I'm going to have to go through my collection to and get rid of most of it. Oh, and the same for Fallout 3. I have a ton of weapons and stuff stored in my house. Though all this will take a backseat once I get Skyrim and then I'll start a new collection there.

In Morrowind I was a Wood Elf assassin, head of the Morag Tong, so I collected helmets from my victims. I lined my house in Balmora with one of each style and with the doubles I made odd totem polls outside my home(s). In Oblivion I collected skulls, Sigil stones, helmets but they just sort of littered my homes since you could not really stack them like in Morrowind. I also would still any purple book I found and stacked them in my shack by the Imperial City with hopes of filling it up, never quite happened.
