arena in skyrim !

The arena should have been in Skyrim. Arenas are an elder scrolls tradtion.
Then Oblivion is the only traditional Elder Scrolls game? I like the irony of this ;)

There's ready a crappy MMO coming. So, take your online Arena there. Leave SP Skyrim alone.

why not?, adds a online angel to the game.
I generally ignore titles with an online component, unless it's an RTS.

~Still... An arena [singleplayer] like the one in Oblivion would have been a nice addition to the game.

Yes the game could really use an arena.
Not online though.

I think the only way I would want mp in Skyrim would be a simple arena dlc where you could (for free) fight other characters for xp or gold. Maybe some new arena armour. I definitely don't want others on my quests. There can be only one Dovakin (still can't spell it).

A single player arena would be cool as hell. As far as ESO is concerned, the screenshots have really let me down. Then again, it's not a BGS game, so no surprise there.

There should be an arena, not online though.

I miss the Arena from Oblivion..

A potential DLC could have you taken captive by an Argonian raiding party, they sell you to an Arena somewhere in Black Marsh where you have to fight your way to freedom. At the end you are released into the small town nearby, this gives you a glimpse of the province of Black Marsh and allows you to explore this new town and chat with the Argonian natives. You can also harvest some of the native plants there and sell them for a tidy profit back in Skyrim. There's a boat you can get back to Skyrim, however you can return to the town to repick the ingredients, trade with the merchants or take part in weekly or monthly arena fights for gold. Perhaps even bet on fights if it's possible.

Perhaps make it a small island of the coast of Black Marsh (if there are islands) for obvious reasons. If there aren't islands off the coast then make it one in the middle of a very large deep lake that serves as the barrier, you can swim out a while into the lake before you get the you cannot go that way message, or whatever it is in Skyrim.

Indeed.

I would love some sort of guild that works as a "Fight Club" type of group. You can join fight blooded or to first blood or to the death with opponents, eventually becoming Champion, but it would need to be much more fleshed out than the Skyrim guilds AND the OB Arena. Twists and turns throughout the quest line. Make it enclosed with wooden stakes so you get damaged if you try to run out. No need to be flashy, it can be like the Globe Theater from Shakespeare's time except a bit bigger.

Of course, as much as I'd love to see this, I'd much prefer the Companions and the College to have extended story lines to AT LEAST double their current length of legitimate quests (not those radiant ones) and they would need to build up on the story/aftermath of the current quest line.

Online is of no interest to me. The minute Skyrim goes online, thousands will think they are cute and hack the hell out of the game to make Godzilla walk across the screen and auto-kill you.

Even if there weren't any hackers it would take focus off of the single player game (IT ALWAYS DOES NO MATTER WHAT DEVELOPERS SAY !!). ES is single player and should always remain so (ESO excluded of course)...

We want TES to be single player, and so do the Devs. This is exactly why they are making the MMO. So that the series can remain 100% single player.

However a single player arena will be added soon enough in a free patch for sure. There was one ingame, but it got cut for whatever reason, but all the parts are still there. I gurentee that they'll stitch it together, finish it, and release it in a patch.

Thanks for all the feedback I really do think it would be a great addition to skyrim to make an arena I really miss being able to just go and kick the crap out of someone in the arena and I hated in oblivion were you beat the grand champion and after that all you could do is fight creatures and no human oppents! There should always be another challenger.

Good point, generic human characters should be available for fights after beating the Arena. I hope we can bet on fights as well like in Oblivion if we do get an arena. I liked doing that while gulping down a bottle of expensive wine, made me feel like a big shot, despite the fact I was actually wearing a sack cloth outfit and had less than 5 gold to my name.

i would not mind having one. It can keep a personal record but it should not be on display. Also it should match up people based on level or type of fight. Also there should be no online ranking system it should purely be for fun. If we add a ranking people will feel too pressured to be the best and it really takes away from feeling like the true dragon born because your reminded of how crappy you are at the game when your ranked number 30,000,000 out of 30,000,001 players. We want to still feel like the all powerfull dovakhiin so it can't be overly competitive or it ruins that feeling.

Agreed if this was to happen spells would be balanced and same with gear or weapons...

Rewards would be nice also exclusive gear,weapons,spells.... it would be great but realistically there are many players who oppose the idea. *sadly*

no.

but they are probably not really targeting tradition tes players anyway? idk, its seems a lot of original tes fans enjoy exactly that is is NOT online mmo/pvp battlng.

Im a long time TES fan (Daggerfall) and think that ESO will be different enough from other MMOs that its at least worth looking at

Right now the make or break part for me is if it will have a monthly payment

Keep online away from TES series and if it must be something TES online then do like zenimax but never in the actual series.

Why is everyone against multiplayer as a whole? I'd love if 1 or 2 of my friends could jump into my world as their characters (or newly made and leveled characters) and then turn into npcs when they disconnected. Online play doesn't need to be little Xbox Live kiddies calling you the N-word, it could just be a fun adventure with your friend.

Because it would take away from the single player, it obviously would. ES is one of the last great solely single player experiences out there, long may it continue.
