ARGHHH, I don't know what to specialise my character in.

Post » Fri Dec 17, 2010 12:44 am

Fallout: NV is out in 11 days - for me, im British, Anyway that doesn't really matter. What matters is I cant determine what ill specialise in for my first character, its constantly running through my mind; not that that's a bad thing, but in college classes its all I can think about. So, yeah. A little help guys?

Tag'd Skills: ?
Age: 18
Gender: Male
hardcoe Mode: Yes
S.P.E.C.I.A.L: ?
Karma And Rep: ?
Favoured Equipment: ?
Route to take upon Start: ?

P.s: The question marks are the ones I need help on, when answering feel free to post your character in a similar format. When answering please also take into consideration the new weapons/features that will benefit from lets say... energy weapons and putting strength to 10 etc. Thank you, please help me pass my college course ;)

Heh. You want suggestions? How about these.

Tag'd Skills: Melee/Unarmed
S.P.E.C.I.A.L: Prioritize Strength and Agility
Karma And Rep: Bag/Negative
Favoured Equipment: Unarmed, Axes, Knives, etc.

The New Vegas wasteland looks to be in desperate need of some good olde fashioned axe murdering after all. :fallout:

Try the character type that was suggested by Josh Sawyer... Professor Murdah- energy weapon specialist that eats and drinks EVERYTHING he can get his hands on.

Then why are you asking us to suggest one?
Look through Special.
You get 40 points.
Imagine what you want to be good at and then place them.
Look at the skills.
Think what each of them does.
Think about what kind of character you want to be then pick 3.
We can't help you pick a character you're going to be satisfied with.
But for some things:

You like to use VATS?
Choose high Agility.
You want to use most weapons without any sway or accurcy problem?
Pick 6-8 in Strength.
Do you like Swish, Bam, Bang, Pew or Boom more? (Melee, Unarmed, Guns, Energy Weapons, Explosives)
Chose the one you liked most in Fallout 3 or the old games.
Karma, do as you like.
Factions, look through each of them and then figure out who you like more.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I on the other hand know what I'm going for:

S 8 (Because of Plasma Caster, Incinerator, Flamer and Gatling Laser)
P 2 (Don't care much for it unless it affects .spread which I doubt it does...)
E 4 (FO3 was too easy, time to crank it up)
C 8 (Dialogue)
I 8 (Dialogue)
A 1 (Screw VATS)
L 9 (critical %)

Tags
Speech (dialogue)
Energy Weapons (Powerful and has the least amount of different ammo)
Barter (Time to loot [censored] :D )

Traits
Skilled (If it's in) (Perk every third level :) )
Jinxed (If it's in) (I want lots of critical failures)

Karma (Don't care)

Faction alignment
Caesars Legion. (Cause they got ninja's with skirts)
Powder Gangers (I like their hatred towards NCR)
Khans (love them)

Equipment
Depends.

Gender
Female

Age
40 (I want to be a hot soccer mom. :hubbahubba: )

I'm going to tag medicine, repair and survival, then put points into guns and sneak also on level ups. I want to be able to fix myself up with doctor bags, repair my weapons and armour as required and not die of thirst in the desert.

Energy weapons seem really strong from what I seen and if they start to get as common as they was at the end of Fallout 3 then that cant be a bad thing, But I just like using small guns better so thats going to be a tough decision I will need to face.

What appeals to you?
Do you like being the big dumb brute with a hammer?
Sneaky little sniper that has a tendency to slice necks?
Jack of all trades?

For example,
I plan on being a Irish/Italian named Leo Vazzi, marksman who carries around a hunting rifle, Glock Plasma pistol, knife, and a R91 (if its in the game) supressed. The majority of my SPECIAL will be in perception, strength, and agility. Survival, Small Guns, and Repair will most likely be tagged, and I have not decided my trait yet.
Assassin-style Ranger for the NCR.

Just think "you".

Sadly I'm on the same boat as you never say never in terms of release date. One of your playthroughs will have to be the tough but caring cowboy. Watch some randolph scott, gary cooper, the duke etc. Small guns, unarmed, strength, endurance sort of thing.

Me too! energy weapons were cool and techy and all; but I still got more satisfaction from killing with a small arm/non energy weapon.

Yeah, thanks that sparked something of in my brain; I do in fact like being the ''sneaky little sniper that has a tendency to slice necks''. So, yeah that means sneak, Melee and....? .... either Survival, A gun Skill or something else. Hm.
