Argonian in LegionStormcloaks.

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 4:58 am

So I have an Argonian character as my first character. I am really wanting to get in on the Imperial/Stormcloak conflict, but since I am an Argonian I can't help but feel I do not fit in anywhere...Argonians are more or less treated like crap in Windhelm by Stormcloaks, and the legion seems a bit too formal for an Argonian...

Does an Argonian have a place on either side? Like I said, I want to get it on this but I may just have to make a Nord character or something, which I don't particularly want to do, but won't spoil the questline if an Argonian makes no sense at all.

Hardly spoling the quest line, You are dragonborn, do as you see fit. Go with the rebellions if you dislike the Tholmar invasion or go with legion if you dislike nords and embrace tholmar in skyrim.

Argonians are pretty much treated like crap everywhere in the Empire, except for Black Marsh.

It would have been cooler if your race and six could bar you from certain activities. Joining the Stormcloaks as anything but a Nord, for example, shouldn't be possible.

Yeah, thematically the central conflict of who to side with isn't really powerfully meaningful for anyone but a Nord. Imperials have a stake as well, but for an Imperial the choice is easy and obvious. But for all other races you can just assume the race you choose to play as is overly interested in politics.

EDIT: I guess the Altimer have a stake as well, but see again what I wrote for Imperials.

I actually read an interesting book in game written by a Nord commenting on the racial situation in Windhelm, basically he insulted the Dunmer for thinking everything is owed to them, and not assimilating into the culture, yet he praised the Argonians as they were hard workers and adapted to the culture, saying Dunmer shold be like them.

If Mede's Empire is anything like the Empire of old, it should be fairly cosmopolitan. The Imperials are an inclusive people, because they know it's better to make friends than enemies.

Do as you wish. I'm an Argonian and I joined the Stormcloaks right off the bat! Though, I may have my character not finish the questline since she doesn't give a damn. Neither the Thalmor nor the Empire would have the balls to brave Black Marsh's beastliness!

True, I have yet to even find a Khajiit that is friendly and not part of one of the trade caravans.

I think the Argonians would be better off siding with Ulfric.
They are at least paid for their work now.

If the Empire took over the Altmer would be in charge, and I believe they would give the Argonians quite a hard time. Hell, they even think of men as inferiors, so what's a lizard to them?

They'd probably enslave the beast races all over again.

Off topic, I think it's quite bittersweet how the Dunmers thought of themselves so superior to the Argonians, and now they're treated like scum much like they treated their slaves in the past,

Argonians in Windhelm can't live among the rest of the citizens. They have to live cramped up together.

In the end, losing one province isn't going to stop the Elves.

Not really. If Ulfric wins, they don't win nor lose. They stay miserable and that's that.
If the Empire wins, they REALLY lose.

Just as starting out the game in that group of Nordic prisoners makes no sense, and how the general casts you a snide remark about how you're probably from the Argonian scum in Riften. Why would you be crossing the border INTO Skyrim if you were from Riften?

I joined the Rebellion because I through I'd personally rather fight for my beliefs then give into a group of people who would rather bow their heads then fight for what they believe in. Though he may be raciest I'd rather follow Ulfric than the crumbling empire.

Agreed. And Ulfric is the worst of them. Allowing hate is exactly the same as perpetrating it.

Well at least the Khajiit one made sense.

"You with the trade caravans, Khajiit?"
