I thought there was a thread talking about this quote / trend / meme but a search for arrows and knees didn't turn up anything recent.

Anyway, today at final form our squadron's first sergeant was talking about consuming energy drinks and the fact that it's getting hotter and we need to hydrate, and he goes 'Where are my Skyrim players at?' and then he goes 'I used to be a good airman, but then I took an arrow to the knee'. Lol, it was pretty funny to hear, and awesome that pretty much everyone knows of Skyrim even if it's just from that quote.

So where have you heard the phrase used? I know it was all over the internet as a meme for awhile (and every now and then it is still) but what about beyond the internet and gaming communities?

It pisses me off when someone says that and I ask them if they even know what thats from and they say no.

Scratch that, it pisses me off if someone says it in general.

It's kinda fun when it shows up at places/events you don't expect it to, but most places on the internet it's way overused. It's not as bad as it was after the Skyrim release though, now I see more whining about the meme, than the meme itself.

I foresee lots of replies about how much people hate it.

Man, I remember when it was all over Facebook and hardly anyone knew where it was from. Sometimes I hate the internet.

I don't care, Memes are overused rubbish. That's all they are. The only people still using the Arrow to the Knee bit actively are the ones stuck to far in the past until the next big mass media meme comes out. It's the vicious cycle of the internet.

I like the joke, but only when the words are replace, I.E I used to like farming until I took a rabbit to the field (bad example, but you get the gist).

Giants launching things into the stratosphere with a downward strike was the funniest thing to come out of that game, IMO. The arrow joke is so insanely forced, I can't stand it.
