Assassin superior playstyle

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 11:12 pm

I'm going to go ahead and say, Assassin is the superior playstyle. I use two daggers (One of which has a small chance to instantly kill I have one shot a Dragon) And I do 30x Sneak Crit Damage. On top of that I use the shout Elemental Fury and it makes one of my daggers attack super fast. (I have come to a conclusion it does not work on enchanted items or at-least not rank 2.) I have 100 sneak and 80 1 hand so I do massive damage and kill everything with one sneak attack and I am so hidden I accidentally walk by enemies without noticing. Pretty sure that's better than a Warrior :D.

Yes I agree. It's easy mode and takes no skill.

Just kidding.

yeah, assassin gameplay is pretty crazy

at first i used a bow to do most of my damage until i got the 15x dagger damage perk in the sneak tree. Really fun going around and taking out an entire fort full of bandits with just your dagger.

i have a question for you though OP, and any others who may know the answer, is there a difference in dual wielding daggers using this playstyle? I feel that the 2nd dagger is quite useless as i almost always kill anything in one shot with the first dagger.

anyways, i'm level 30 and finally got sneak up to 100 and my archery up to 79, one handed is only at 40 i think...

Also, another question, for this type of playstyle, is it even worth it to invest into the one hand tree? seems to me that it benefits maces/swords/and axes

I've exclusively invested in archery and sneak only, i have 3 extra perks sitting around waiting for my archery stuff

Oh, another question, what are you investing in? Magicka, Health, or Stamina. From level 1 to level 30, i've pumped every still level into Health, and i don't have any problems. Daggers don't take any stamina per swing, as i have noticed. and the only skill that takes stamina is the archery zoom, but that's kind of icing on the cake... not really necessary, in my opinion.

p.s. after archery and sneak, what perk tree should this playstyle benefit the most from, i was thinking alchemy. Still unsure. I figure in any viable playstyle you need a way to regenerate health *to stay alive* and if you're not going into restoration, alchemy is kind of the only other tree to provide healing (in my opinion)

The nice thing about SkyRim (Oblivion) is that you don't have to choose a pure class, like Warrior or Mage. While sneaking all over and backstabbing every enemy is effective it isn't a very deep strategy. I might die a lot but I have fun trying different things. In Oblivion I had a Theif/Archer/Alchemist. I could sneak attack with poison from a distance and even the largest targets were dead before they could reach me. Its too easy, though.

I have a my one handed skill almost fully upgraded, i use a Battle axe.

together with my fully upgraded block skill, and my almost fully upgraded armor skill. Loads of stamina, im pretty much a Tank!!

Good luck dodging my disarm bash, and the following highpower swing with my Battleaxe with 50% decapitation chance.. i think i will 1 hit your Assassin.

max level sneak is silly since you can walk in front of enemies and they won't notice. I think they should change that imo because it breaks immersion and the 'intensity' of sneaking in the first place. There's no risk

But the thing is, you couldn't hit my assassin. I would be sneaking and out of no where you would just see your character getting his throat slit. :P

Yeah, i find it kind of easy in the game so far...

I've been playing on Master difficulty since the beginning and besides the fact that some monsters still one shot me, taking them out, while in what seems like indefinite sneak mode, with a bow and some distance is pretty easy.

I dual wield daggers because the one hand tree is well worth it. I have the perk "Armsman" Maxed (5/5) "One-Handed weapons do twice as much damage" Then I have "Dual Flurry" Maxed (2/2) "Dual wielding attacks are 35% faster." (For those situations when I have a stupid companion with me that decides to attack stuff then it messes me up completely and I cant sneak well.) I also have "Dual Savagery" "Dual wielding power attacks do 50% bonus damage." That answers question 1 and 2.

Now for The magicka health or stamina at first I went stamina, But a bit later (Got it to 180) I noticed it was pointless really. So I've been going health with a few points in magicka to just make sure when needed I can use heal.

I put a few points in in restoration (only 2) to get "Novice Restoration" "Cast Novice level Restoration spells for half magicka." and "Restoration Dual Casting" Dual casting a restoration spell overcharges the effects into an even more powerful version." To keep myself fully healed at all times.

Did I miss anything? I don't think so lol.

In oblivion, playing as a dagger wielding assassin in Oblivion was nearly impossible. In Skyrim, at least it's possible! I have fun times assassinating enemies, but when I get seen I must hide again. That is what I'd change. It's way too easy to hide after being seen.

Here is a major spoiler on how Sins are OP. Not about the story or anything but a combo of skills you can create that will pretty much ownz anything.

Spoiler
The last Sneak perk you get. IF, while in combat someone sees you and you have to fight, don't worry, get near the NPC, press Ctrl, you will enter in sneak mode for like 1-2 seconds (although the game wont show) use your dagger + dark brotherhood gloves and you will have a 30x atk bonus while attacking an alerted enemy in front of you

Can you sneak up on people and actually do a "Finishing move" straight away? Aka a one hit kill.

After a few level's and itens, if you get on someone's back it's pretty much a OHK - even on bosses.
