Atmosphere of the Forums

Post » Sun Jul 08, 2012 12:28 pm

I've seen some heated debates around in these forums (overall), as well as the troll spams, of course, but by and large, Beth fora has a pretty "calm" atmosphere, I'll agree. Considering how "large" they are/how many people frequent them.

No huge fora is going to be perfectly peaceful all the time, but all you have to do is go to a place like, say, battle.net forums and you'll know the difference.

Thanks. Keepin' it steady at 21% oxygen ain't at all an easy feat.
I don't know, it shouldn't be that hard to set the oxygen value of a virtual world.

What would happen if I were to petition for an atmosphere of 31% Argon?

Well how about adding a bit of helium to the forum atmosphere? That would be amusing. Until we all die horribly.

You are allowed the Argon but will be jumped on for the petition.
But then how am I supposed to get the composition of the atmosphere changed to an unbreathable state around here? Bah, you guys can't let us get away with nuttin'.

You could try and rustle some feathers about it but most people would be pretty inert to the cause.

I've always found and probably always will find (because they'll never change) the rules here stifling, which leads to forced compliance creating much of the good behavior on here. I've been on other forums as well behaved as these without the strict rules (granted, none of them are gaming forums).

The forum is good, altough I do find it restrictive at times. It would be cool if we could have a religion/politics sub-forum or something inside the CD.

"But Ergin, if you want to discuss politics and religions, go elsewhere!"

Alright, you don't have to shout...

Jeez.

There's two things you should never talk about at a dinner party, and that's religion and politics. Same goes for forums. I am glad it's against the rules because it always ends in flame wars, hell they mostly start out that way.

What I would like to be able to do at times is use real world examples when in debates but that pretty much ends up as a flame war as well.
