Atmosphere of the Forums

Post » Sun Jul 08, 2012 5:46 am

I'd just like to conragtulate the atmosphere of the forums here. I've been on them for a while and never seen a vicious personal attack or serious argument yet. I'd spent a lot of time on the Lionhead Forums before they were shut down and the atmosphere there was totally different, really hostile compared to here.

I have been here for quite a while, mostly spent my time in the Skyrim General Discussion forum though, not really been in much of the others, that might be why I haven't encountered many of these.

The community forums are pretty mellow. Besides the odd forumite who starts trouble, like in a thread yesterday about freedom of speech...

But, there is a good amount of hostility in the actual game forums, especially when one is close to being released or just got announced.

Wow, you've spent most of your time in Skyrim General and you still think the atmosphere is nice?

You're a more patient person than I.

The mods do a great job at gettig rid of those that start trouble. There is a handy report button that should be used when you think people are breaking the rules and the mods will deal with it.

This place is pretty relaxing...most of the time. I'm not going to pretend I contribute to that, but I appreciate it being there anyway.

More people need to wander into CD. It always seems to be Exorince and his little band of ruffians that occupy the place.

Agreed the Fallout and ES areas can get heated with nerd rage.

I think most of us have been there.

I love It here. Nothing like that cesspool called gta forums. Mods are a certain type of rectum opening there.

Most of the things that stir up nice arguments are censored from these forums. Cooler heads always prevail when there is nothing to get heated about.

The atmosphere on this forum is generally pretty nice, especially here in the Community Discussion section. But I haven't been here even a year yet and I have seen LOTS of personal attacks and weak arguments, so I don't know how you can say that you haven't seen any of that anywhere.

The game boards before a release. That's some crazy stuff.

Community Discussion is pretty tame most of the time though.

CD is calm. The spammy threads recently are probably from people leaking in from the Dawnguard forums

But you were not here for the Skyrim forums post E3 last year

Ugh, what a dreadful time that was. :yuck:

But yeah, CD is way calmer than the rest of the forums. The Skyrim and Fallout ones are the worst of the bunch. Spam, spoilers, heated arguments, you name it.

Yeah, you're right.

Now, unless I'm wrong, a certain someone is a bit behind on his... "Protection" money... That doesn't bode well with the boss, ya'know...
