Auriel's bow sunhallowed arrows

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 2:53 pm

Do the sunhallowed arrows cause the 20pts of sun damage, or does that come from the bow itself? I ask this because i didn't use any soul gems to recharge the bow, it was empty, but the explosion still happened when i used the sunhallowed arrows.

You know, I'm curious about more than just the damage of this weapon (which, I believe, is the damage from the bow itself). I tried "shooting arrows at the sun" and nothinghappens. Doesn't matter which version of the arrow (sunhallowed or bloodcursed), absolutely nothing happens. Am I supposed to literally be firing the arrow at the sun?

You must use Bloodcursed Arrows and you must shoot directly at the sun.

The effects stack, which means that if you have the Sunhollowed arrows the enemy is hit by both effects. If the bow is empty you only get the effect from the arrows.

I've shot the Bloodcursed Arrows at the Sun and darkened it. What do the Sunhallowed arrows do if shot at the sun? Melt all the snow?

Alrighty, I'll try it again. But I'm skeptical. I've tried with both arrows a few times.

Sunhallowed are supposed to damage everybody in the area, or so says Auriel's bow. Maybe I've been hitting clouds instead of the sun itself.

I want to darken the sun, dammit!

you have to visibly see the circle of the sun and fire a arrow directly at it....if its cloudy or snowy it won't work and therefore i've only had success doing this in the south.

if you fire a sunhallowed arrow at the black hole sun it will return it to normal and then you have to wait a day to black it out again. I heard that clear skies shout will return the sun to normal as well but i haven't tried it personally

oh and correct me if i'm wrong but only bloodcursed arrows fired from auriels bow will block out the sun

They make the sun glow brighter and damage enemies in the area.

thats nice except when do you encounter a group of vamps on a sunny cloudless day? The only time that would've been useful is outside the castle on the dawnguard quest but you can't see the sun there so its useless.

The sun rises in the east sets in the west if it's cloudy draw an arrow and scan the coulda sky when you're over the sun the screen will flash red if it's a blood cursed arrow or yellow if it's a sun hallowed arrow and that's how you find the sun on a cloudy day ;)

I was so pumped to attack Castle Volkihar with my sunhallowed arrows raining damage down...and then it just snowed. Sad Panda. Cool effect when your not in the middle of a snow storm.

It takes awhile to reach full effect.

Yeah I usually aim it at the sun and hold it there for a second or two. It seems like the sun glows a little brighter/more golden colored when you do it, then I release the arrow and voila!

Likewise with the Bloodcursed Arrows. When you have it actually pointed at the sun, you will see a brief red flash. That's how you know you're ready to let fly.

Personally I just use it to set a new atmosphere, as for damage its really not that useful to me granted I do play as a werewolf.

Then this would be no good for my Vampire Lord.. Just as well I shot the sun with Bloodcursed arrows. Gargoyles came out and attacked. They held a wonderful collection of items... Great for my smithing!! lol :D

you fire directly at the sun with both types ( bloodcursed and sunhallowed ) and they have opposite effects. Sometimes its hard to see the sun because of glare and so on.

You can use the Clear Skies shout to get rid of the weather preventing you from using the arrows on the sun, just shout at the sky. At least that's what I do when the weather isn't cooperating.

Why are you saying "you must use Bloodcursed Arrows"....

If you are playing the Dawnguard, that is exactly what you don't want. I never shot the sun, but only made the Sunhallowed arrows, as would be appropriate for my faction.

By that I mean is you must have the Bloodcursed arrows to temporary block out the Sun. Supposedly there is an effect by using the Sunhollowed ones, but I have never tested it.

Tdroid... yes - again - are you trying to mislead someone playing as a Dawnguard?

Bloodcursed is what the Vamps want.... Sunhallowed is what you would want as a Dawnguard. I have no desire to block out the sun, and actually never used Auriel's bow for either of those purposes.

So just to be clear to all - Bloodcursed is what vamps desire, Sunhallowed for the Dawnguard.

I am not sure how me saying what leads to what is misleading people. I had, and have, no interest in making people use the bow in any other way that they want, nor do I see why you bring that up at all

Bloodcursed let get a lot of vampire coming out, so they would be very usefull for a Dawnguard.
