bash+power attack+... GRENADE?!

It's definitely the kind of thing that makes PC gamers nervous about multiple-platform releases.

I haven't made any mistakes in a while, practice makes perfect. It's not as bad as some of you make it out to be.

It works for me on my Keyboard.

Just cause my keyboard has so many extra buttons doesn't mean I want to have to use them all to play.

Having one button that has handled so many different actions and never let me down has been great hope we get more like this.

Press for power attack, hold for grenade. Easy for me now.

It was a problem in the beginning because of Skyrim. Even though the controls are different I still kept thinking I had to hold for my power attacks. Lots of nades wasted.

Press for Bash attack

Hold and release for grenade throw (from when you hear the pin go)

Hold Bash for power attack (bash and power attack are two different attacks)

So the problem arise when you have grenades equipped, so when you want to do a power attack, you throw a grenade in melee range instead, blowing yourself up as well in the process. You have to go into your pip-boy, unequip the grenade in order to perform a power attack.

I am 67% sure you are wrong about that. I'll be home soon and can test myself :)

Question are you using guns or melee weapons? They may work differently. Also I'll check unarmed for differences too. Oh and bayonets too! I love testing things!

Bash and power attack are purely for ranged weapons in hand. People also go nuts over this grouping because of people who have the Nuclear Physicist perk accidently eject their power cores when trying to perform power attack.

I got use to this feature in about 10 min out of the vault... Some people try to dam up a mud slide. Me I just ride the thing to the bottom. *Shrug* I would not change it if I could. However people should be able to rebind any key on there keyboard... Pc Gaming 101

That's my other biggie... climbing out of my PA when I just wanted to pick something up... Oh, and opening the damned workshop when I want to switch to/from first person view.

Hmm melee uses that button for its power attack and I was not aware gun bashing got two moves there. Test soon.

Edit: Super wrong to.

To, I said to instead of two.

Also I have tested! It was very hard for unarmed and impossible for melee (high strength, melee perks) but I am now 99.999% sure that there's only one type of bash. Perks may change this but I do not belive so. Melee, unarmed, bayonet, and normal gun bash have no AP cost increase or damage increase. I had trouble making gun bash (bayonet or not) do a kill scene thing without holding the bash key but there was definitely no damage difference. Admittedly I got distracted by random double or so damage that occasionally happened. A lot of testing says it was not a new bash but proof (to me at least) that there is non Vats random critical hits!

Take all of this as one man's option of things only he has seen.

I am right though B)

Well, obviously there must be a power attack, since it is named Bash/Power Attack/Grenade in the settings. Always thought there was two attacks tho. So Power Attack must be for melee then? Else I am getting mighty confused here :D

This seemed wrong so I went and tested it. There is no extra power attack. You get what you get from hitting the bash button. Holding it down with no nades equipped gives you nothing more at all.

Yeah, I really thought that was the case. So feel a bit silly now, lol. But, what is power attack then? The key is labeled as Bash/Power Attack/Grenade?

Melee and unarmed have power attacks while guns get a bash attack. I can see how it would confuse people, I can't even say why I thought my way. Maybe because I started from a melee focus instead of guns? Who knows? Anyway don't feel bad.

Oh [censored]! I'm of topic, yes bad key choice. Manley for PC people cause they need to be able to change all keys.

Damn it! More test and I have to work. Check ripper later.
