It's always funny though
It's always funny though
The size of the settlment is irrelevant to me.
All I want is the ability to rule with an iron fist!
And jump on everyone's kitchen table after midnight...
I'm going to try and make my own personal Alexandria.
Thats what I'm planning to do too. And I'll build another settlement to be the Hilltop, with someone running it.
That's really not going to stop some people.
Also, I think you can transfer resources between settlements, so you should be able to stockpile them all in a single settlement area and build your Tower of Magnificence there (though all the other settlement areas will be stripped bare).
Finally, I'm pretty sure that there'll be some kind of limitation on the number of objects you can construct in a settlement (by default: I'm sure mods will remove that limit) - this is the 'size' statistic in the settlement HUD.
Well they did say stuff about multiple settlements, so I'm assuming theres enough resources for that.
I'll just grab a resources mod when I get to the point of wanting to build my big ideas.
I actually believe there will be plenty of resources, just not at the location of the settlement. Sure, there will be some there, but if you really want to build up on resources, you'll have to collect it from other areas and bring it back.
I believe the real challenge will be if you decide to spend the PERK points into upgrading Local Leader enough to build the defenses needed for certain areas. The first area you should get will be your old neighborhood, and that area should have a difficulty rating of level 1 though 5, so you can get away with having a low defense score and setting Codsworth as a leader. As you progress in the game you'll find other settlements, but these settlements will be in areas with higher and higher level difficulties, so you will need to spend points in Local Leader so to be able to build the defenses that can keep a settlement in that area safe (as well as appointing a more efficient leader from one of your companions).
So, your first settlement will most likely not be much to look at, and it really doesn't need to be. As you progress though, your settlements will need to be more and more planned out to optimize defense given that specific area, and this is where your settlements will begin to look awesome.
All I wanna know, is wether I can build my own Fortress house thing with just a few companions and live in that without the burden of wasters.
Confirm:
Working elevator in the game while inside the building,no fade to black.
Elevator work like in Broken Steel when your going down the bunker.
Sorry, no. I read somewhere that you can build your own house with no worries, but as soon as you start accepting people the raiders will start coming.
confirmed just in the game, or as a settlement building asset?
No matter what.. I'll most likely hold off on building my big ideas for settlements until close to end game or even after end game. If I can't just re-purpose some old house, I'll build a little crappy storage shack like space for my base of operations. I just don't want to have to deal with settlement defense while I'm off exploring the wastes. I mean, what happens if you don't go defend your settlement? Do you lose some gear? Do buildings get destroyed? Do settlers die? That sounds like it could really be annoying.
Confirmed it's in the game, but could be moded for settlements.
I'ts not confirm for settlements at this time, just saying there are working elevators which means there are scripts that can used to make mods of it.
Sorry should have clarified.
Since you can disassemble entire buildings just pressing a button to get the materials... The resources are not the problem.
Settlers do die as far a s I can tell, don't now if merchants do but guards do.
You also have to have food and water and electricity to keep them happy like in "Shelter" game.
yeah, that sounds like a lot of busy work that will be more fun once I've completed most of the game. Otherwise, I'll have to constantly be dropping everything to get back to a settlement to defend it. I guess it depends on how often the "random" attack rate occurs. Skryim's was overwhelming to me. Every time I visited a town or went to one of those three plots where you could build a home.. Some idiotic event would occur that I'd have to deal with.
