This thread shows that taste is such a subjective and personal thing that no two people could possibly like the same things...I HATE the way the glass objects in this game look. In fact, for me, most of the weapon models in this game are terrible by 2012 standards. They're way too big/thick and some look downright impractical. You can't call something a hammer if four spiked prongs protrude inches away from the blunt edge. Talking about the Deadric warhammer. And the silly serratedness of the other deadric weapons? Come on, I know this game was marketed toward a younger crowd than the older TES fans but don't insult their (and us older types) intelligence by thinking more spikes/sharp points = WOW SO COOL.
Honestly my favorite models are the steel ones. They obviously got the most love. Hell they're even the sharpest at medium settings for PC. Also the pock-markedness of the iron weapons looks good and representative of the metal they're made from. The dwenmer objects are the second most beautiful, and the most practical looking considering the ones who made them. All the dwenmer stuff is thick and tough looking, perfectly representing a culture so isolated that it would more likely be at war with itself than outsiders, therfore their thick weapons look like they could indeed penetrate or significantly damage their thick, heavy armor. Same for the Orc weapons. The edges of their blades tend to be wavy and irregular, perfect for cutting into thick flesh that might be resilient to a sharp edge. That's some good attention to detail there. Then we have glass....ugh. Glass weapons at least look the sharpest of all the weapon model types, but I just can't stand the color scheme. And as for silver, that was just horrid. Way beyond in fact.
