Best Looking Weapons

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 4:29 am

whats your take? What do you think is the best looking weapon/weapons?
So far the coolest looking weapon I've found is Molag Bol's mace. I'm playing as a assassin/thief Kahjiit and I find it matches my character's personality. He's not a bad guy--er, cat--but he's not afraid to do bad things if he has to.

Dwemer, as usual.

Glass is fun in that overly ornate way.
Daedric...well yeah it's cool. But everybody picks daedric.

I have a bit of a hatred of over designed and oversized fantasy weapons in games, because I have an interest in medieval history and I know that a massive, chunky fantasy sword wouldn't be practical in construction or usage. Real war hammers were small one handed weapons, not bloody great sledgehammers which would get you dead before you managed to heft it.

I remember seeing John Howe say in an interview he had a bit of a struggle with the production when designing the gear for the Lord of the Rings movies; because he's a medieval weapon and armour expert and he wanted everything to look genuine rather than over the top fantasy. Fortunately he mostly got his way.

Since Morrowind all TES weapons have been fairly horrible to my sensibilities.

No love for the bound weapons? I can't resist the blue flaming bow.

Iron sword by far.

I find the more 'badass' a sword tries to look, the harder it fails in the process.

All the greatest swordsmen have never needed those elaborate adornments.

An ebony bow used by a beautiful Khajiit male... Just awesome. At least to me. I love how they look with robes and hoods.

I like Dawnbreaker, Mace of Molag Bal, Ebony weapons, Chillrend, and Daedric Weapons. My least favorite is orcish and dwarven.

I'm with you. Dawnbreaker looked very cool for the short time I used it. I got it early with my current character, and it was just perfect for the low levels. I love the look of daedric swords, but I have yet to use one at all because of my smithing path. Next toon . . .

Iron/steel weapons for me. The rest is way too over the top for my tastes. To be honest I haven't used any of the vanilla weapons above the low tier stuff for months.
