Beta Key phishing sites - Don't Click!

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 1:49 pm

It has come to our attention that phishing sites have recently appeared, promising ESO beta keys. Please be aware that we have not opened beta sign-ups yet! When we do, we will announce it on our official Facebook page and Twitter, and our official community site (when it goes live).

Please practice caution, everyone; your personal privacy and protection is very important to us. If you have not seen us announce beta sign-ups here and provide a link to where you can sign-up, it's not a real beta sign-up page!

Thanks for the heads-up!

And please, do not hesitate and feel free to mail me an invitation anytime! Wouldn't even mind if it's just for alpha only. =D

Ditto to dawk1019's question.
There have been a lot of bad reviews about this game so far, so I want to see for myself what it's really like.
The beta stage really helps the game too, as developers tend to be blinded by their own work as they don't have that 'new' perspective of a player.
Hopefully we can turn those reviews around for you, Zenimax.

I believe they said that the beta will take place in 2013 (not quite sure), and the game would probably be released at the latest date possible in 2013

"Reviews"? I believe you mean "previews"; The game has not been released yet, not even in the beta.

Phishing phishing everywhere but never a phish to eat... yeah can't wait to get my hands on some testing of this... hoping to find all and iron out all the little graphic glitches like standing a certain way in a certain spot causes you to fall through the world.

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully you guys will have some official announcements on when we can expect a closed beta invite through these forums so others dont go out looking for other means.

P.S. congratulations on dragging me out from under my rock, Bethesda. Again. Yeesh.

Phishy-sticks? Someone's showing their age (and love of bad puns!)

I'm constantly amused by the emails that arrive phishing for details because I play another well-known online war-type RPG. Mostly their lack of command of even basic English grammar gives them away. However, some of them are amusing simply because of the effort that the people behind them have put in to make them ultra-realistic. (Case in point, I got an actual invide to a recent beta run by a well-known (ahem) heavy-snow storm (ahem) company and almost didn't realise it was the real deal since I'd had previous emails that aped it almost exactly. Fortuantely I realised in time!)

However, you have to admire the optimism of thse people: phising for details on a game that isn't even out yet must surely be the very definition of over-optimistic

(And before anyone gets the wrong idea - putting these people up against a wall and hitting them with a 2x4 until they are very, very sorry indeed is far too lenient. I recommend at least an 8X8 hardwood baord, nails optional)
