Big Thanks to mardoxx for finding this

"Next DLC will be called Dragonborn. It is set in Solstheim. Main locations are Raven Rock, Miraak Temple, Castle Karstaag and Telvanni Tower. You will might be able to ride dragons. Also, new armor types, possibly horse (?) Bomemold, Chitin, Nordic and Stalhrim.

There are references to new creatures too, Riekling, Scrib (lol), Netch.. etc

PS3 DLC will come soon and so will mounted spell casting.

This could, of cause, be an elaborate troll on Bethesda's part! The naming in Translate_*.txt is correct though, http://tsdr.uspto.go...pe=statusSearch

BallistaCenturion.hkx
HMDaedraCharacter.hkx

Character00 and Character01? Also Apo* and Benthic* if that means anything to anyone?

Idle animations IdleChiselStandingWipeBrow, IdleChiselKneelingWiggle, etc

MagicMountedBehavior.hkx --

Someone with more experience with CK games can probably extract more information.

I'm interested in learning about what types of cities/towns will be on Solstheim now. Any guesses as to their size/economy/political factions/religion? I wonder if there will be any truly Nord settlements or if the Dunmer will have invaded most of the island at this point. Settlements on the shores and wilderness in the middle?

Perhaps the Skaal we saw in Bloodmoon are still there in some fashion but more "toned down"

I remember reading that the nords gave them the island, but I guess there could be some nord settlements still there maybe.

If you're so content with being an optimist, then you could say since tomorrow is Tuesday that they could announce it tomorrow. Actually, technically today is Tuesday since it's 12:19 AM over here.... WHATEVER.

If you're like me, and the world's greatest pessimist, you can safely place your bet sometime in Q1 2013.

And miss Christmas? I don't think Bethesda as anything else for that time. I would think that would be primetime for DLC.

Boy, if its truly in Solstheim, I probably fall in love with Beth all over again. This region has so much potential for a lot of intriguing stories considering its history.

IIRC, the beta for Dawnguard didn't go live yet (or even announced for that matter) when we were picking apart the 1.6 beta files. So it may be a few weeks until announcement. Who knows?

Has anybody else noticed there's a headtracking value in there too?
Is that referring to the player?

It's 3 values above the "% advancing the script from callback" one-the long one towards the bottom

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. The way I see it, they could "give" the island to the Dunmer in a sense that they'll allow them to settle there peacefully and the Nords could still live there peacefully. "You can live here and we won't wage war against you" in a sort of way. I am way to pumped for this announcement. I'm guessing it won't be for a while though. Probably in November before anything is made official.

I'm getting the impression so far that they may no longer be there, but who knows.
Spoiler
I thought Raven Rock wasn't an active settlement anymore, unless if lorewise it's been rebuilt (which would be surprising since towns and cities rarely ever seem to get rebuilt in the lore), or it will be a haunted ruin.

Judging from the fact that it may be called "Dragonborn" and there are no lycanthrope-related stuff for this, plus the references to Dunmer culture and lack of mention of the Skaal, it would be safe to say that Solstheim has changed a lot since Bloodmoon (with the migration of the Dark Elves and the extermination of the werewolves from the island) and that the DLC is dragon-centric, relating to unlocking more powers as the Dragonborn and I guess some kind of new dragon threat. This is just an educated guess based on information provided so far. If this is all true, it probably means that much of the content will be locked until you reach a certain point in the MQ, or perhaps you must complete the entire vanilla questline or at least progress far enough in it to get the shout to call Odahviing in order to gain access to the new location, or maybe they'll just add a new boat route, too.

One question though is if they are ever doing the popularly-requested werebears, but I kind of doubt it at this point. I don't know if they'll be doing any additional DLC after this one. They've basically said before that they only want to do two-three DLCs for Skyrim and they've done two "major" ones already (DLC1 and DLC2), but they've gone against their own words before, though.

Actually, I remember them saying the following:
1. There would be at least 2 SI-sized DLC
2. There would be a whole lotta small DLC
3. The plan could be expanded based on demand

DG was not SI-sized. Obviously neither was Hearthfire. So it seems like we have yet to see either of the two planned Expansions.

I do not see them making two SI sized DLC. One? Maybe. Two? No.

I'm fairly certain Beth is including DG as a large DLC. I would not be surprised if this is their last DLC/Expansion that they do for Skyrim before moving onto FO4 or whatever they do next.

I'm willing to bet they have already began on FO4 with smaller teams working the Skyrim DLC.

Some of the writers and concept artists are probably working on FO4's early work. The rest of the team is probably making the DLC-Dawnguard wasn't a small DLC, and this new one will probably be as large or larger

Why not?

Before you answer - consider the following.
Skyrim has been somewhat of a smash hit for Bethesda. We're talking a cool $1B in sales or thereabouts. This has also been a game changer for the industry - no one has ever released a game with this amount of content. As with other games that have sold like wildfire, the temptation to capitalize on the sunk cost of the original game's development by releasing new content on the same platform has proven to be irresistible (think HalfLife and Warcraft as useful examples.) Furthermore, there will be pressure to protect this new franchise, given that Bethesda is staking its future on deep, complex RPG's (ES and FO series) and the fact that TES 6 is almost certainly 3 or more years out in the future, requiring a 'defense' of the user base against competition thru retention.

With that in mind, we could easily see 3-5 SI-sized expansions, and an even dozen DG to HF sized DLC. Without a steady stream of satisfying new content, Bethesda runs the risk of having their user base pilfered/stolen/plundered/hijacked by a savvy and swift competitor who can capitalize on the Skyrim formula with a new game that borrows the successful themes and adds attractions of their own.

In other words - business decisions will tend to drive Bethesda towards creating more and highly compelling new content as opposed to less, and we can reasonably expect another three years of it.
