Lorkhans heart wasn't destroyed if I remember correctly, simply faced out. and the enchantments that bound it and made it accessible were destroyed.

I didn't notice this before, but the quest header looks kind of like some tentacles. And if I'm remembering this correctly, Hermaeus Mora is supposedly a pile of tentacles...

It's probably safe to say that he will play a big role in the DLC

Perhaps. Besides, the Heart was covered well enough in Morrowind, if Bethesda reintroduces it, I think it would be safe to say they are running out of ideas.

Considering Apocrypha is in, he/she/it probably will. Besides, incase you didn't know, the Benthic Zone is the lowest ecological zone in a body of water, so it would be very likely that Benthic Lurkers will be underwater enemies. Plus the quest header looking like a tentacled entity as you pointed out, I think its also safe to say there will be some very prominent underwater themes.

I'm on both signs of that fence, I agree that more should be uncovered rather than making the heart a major plot again. while I would also desire something more to do with the heart.

If there is perhaps some reference to the Heart without keeping it as a major plot than I'd be perfectly fine with it. However I would MUCH more prefer if the plot had a major focus on Lorkhan himself and the events he was involved in.

Cthulhu fhtagn?

I don't know much about the Cthulhu Mythos, but I honestly think we will be getting some serious Lovecraftian influences in Dragonborn.

Mantling gods? Becoming a lich? The Heart of Lorkhan? Holy Herma-Mora the speculation is getting out of control.

Let's make the assumption that you mantle Lorkhan in this DLC, rip out good old god of time Akatosh's heart and thus return the favor, then in the next DLC obliterate the Thalmor by tying Akatosh's heart to an arrow then firing it with his own bow (Auriel's Bow) into Alinor, making another Tower equivalent to the deactivated Red Mountain, except that the stone is now Akatosh's heart.

And then restore Malacath to Trinimac his previous glory and he then becomes the head god in place of Akatosh, then betrays you because he hates Lorkhan and you're a loose end that is to be dealt with. then some series of events after that bring about a new Kalpa and "resets" the elderscrolls series lollolol

I assume those events that begin the new Kalpa will involve Vivec rauaging everything through the Nine Apertures with Muatra the Milk Taker, making everything with a soul barren and wither into bone shapes. And Molag Bal will be by his side.
