Really? I was unaware, but also unperturbed... Seriously OP, it's a video game. I don't need that level of immersion.

Perhaps they just don't want the censorship boards and disgruntled parents calling them liars. Remember the furore about Mass Effect's 'graphic' scenes. Sometimes you gotta hedge a bet.

I thought the ESRB decides the rating for all video games, not the company that makes them?

Actually, I kinda remember something sixual in the game but I'm unable to recall where it was... I remember my reaction and saying to myself "so that's the sixual content we've be told about!?". Can't say more unfortunately. :)

Go to the Bunkhouse in Riften. Look in owner's room. You might have just found some kinky things.

This
I don't recall Bethesda saying the game would have sixual content although it does have mild sixual references
The European PEGI rating is 18+ and is because of
Extreme violence - Violence towards defenceless people

All I am saying is if they think the ratings are going to be high because of the violence anyway, why wouldn't they err on the side of caution with announcing content that exceeds what we may expect, but prevents some conservative anti-gaming loon from claiming they 'knowingly sold such content to minors', whether or not such content was actually capable of shocking, offending, or even interesting more 'normal' people?

Haelga, in Riften. Her associated quest, as well as items found in her bedroom, are quite sixual.
I believe it's Brynjolf who tells you that his Falmer Blood Elixir allows you to 'make love like a sabrecat'.
While not technically sixual, Mikael the bard wrote 'A gentlemans guide to Whiterun', which basically describes the women of Whiterun as potential love interests.

Honestly, I'm glad that Skyrim isn't full of sixual content. It'd ruin the game for me - I play Skyrim because I want an RPG, not an advlt film. :)

I'm pretty sure there is but not in the way you think, OP. Remember, a painting can be erotic without having a single inch of flesh. The other day in the game there was a beautiful female npc bending over and I was just behind her. Well, what do you know, I just made my sixual content right there.

"sixual Themes" not "sixual Content". That's the difference between "Lusty Argonian Maid" and Dragon Age Origins' "six scenes" ;)

Spoiler
There's also a rather disturbing dungeon quest where a necromancer lures morthal (or was it dawnguard?) maidens, kills them, raises them, then uses them as slaves, some of them sixual slaves.

edit: Added spoiler tags.

Or the love note on the counter, and its references to the unimaginable things she does while wearing deadric boots. I searched that whole place hoping to find the boots.... never did, but I did find some other very kinky stuff.

Really the sixual content is just so that if an 8 year old plays the game and asks his mom about any of the things in this topic she can't sue bethesda.

also M rated games can only be purchased by people who are correct me if im wrong people that are 17 and up, so i dont think Bethesda would be at fault because some 12 year old kids mommy went out and bought it for him/her, the fault is the person who actually went out and bought the game for said minor

I'm pretty sure no one cared about the same gender marriage thing Skyrim has. I blame the people not caring. All games are buy at your own risk, as well. Every game to ever exist is. Half of the people who get their undies in a bundle over stuff like that Mass Effect thing(the guy who wrote that blog post actually ended up admitting he was simply offended and there was plenty of non-sixual content in the game) probably aren't the ones who even follow a Pokemon game's release date. They are usually casual consumers.

That's the ideal. The reality is some parents get their kids whatever, don't keep a proper eye on their online and gaming habits, then when their kids get in trouble for something, they start throwing blame in any direction but their own.
