Bethesda should pursue the Knights of the Old Republic Franc

Oh please no. Leave Kotor in the capable hands of Obsidian or Bioware. Well Bioware without that nasty evil EA influence that is.

Yeah, Bethesda svcks hardcoe at writing stories..Just saying. The games might be fun, but the stories are never gripping or long lasting. Bioware is a master storyteller.

They have to ask novel writers or directors, not in house. Orson Scott Key, Ridley Scott, Todd Macfarlane, etc.

That would cost the entire budget of the game. Sounds like what you want.

They will make every dime back by them developing it and who else is attached to it. The Franchise will carry it almost alone, if retains its mature nature, and nail the immersion.

Do you have any idea how expensive that would be?

Who said giveaway. They have to purchase the rights, or develop under a partnership. Bioware has no interest in bringing the franchise back, so we are left with the larrgest potential on the backshelf under Pikmin or Viva Pinata. Bethesda has to undestand why not develop whats in demand, then after a successful profit go into their creative from scratch register. Happy consumers and developers. I feel like I am waiting for Mayweather to fight Paquiao, give the fans (revenue), what we want.

Why would Bioware sell it? How would they benefit? You really don't understand how companies work. That kind of stuff just doesn't happen, they'd be better off keeping it and NEVER using it than letting someone else benefit from it.

Secondly, they ARE using KOTOR, like I said it's The Old Republic. That's where KOTOR is. You don't like it, tough, but it's the future, it makes them more money than a KOTOR 3 ever would.

Hands that refuse to deliver are rendered incapable, when elsewhere demand already exist.

So, start off the project with the cost of buying the rights to the franchise (really expensive), then hire a multi-million dollar writer, and then...profit?

It's great that you feel so strongly about it, but you're talking about a pretty gigantic funding requirement right out of the gate. That game had better be good. You keep saying that the demand is there...do you have any numbers to support that? So far this is just something on your wish list. Show us the budget. :P

Do you have any idea how much profit it will make as a debut with next generation consoles. Bethesda needs Microsoft to use it as a launch title of the 720, it will push hardware and the titles to zeros you can no longer count. It will be sold out and in demand. Partnered up with Microsoft their financial woes would be manageable. Bill foot the bill. This will be a limited exclustivity, maybe 60 days before, appearing on other systems.

More than 1 year would be required to make the game.

You mentioned Gate how about Bill Gates and a exclusive title equivalent to the launch of his next generation system (720). This will provide funding and insurance of the success of their launch. Kick A** game to push their cutting edge system thats worth the effort. No volleyball games, or pikmin to push the system,

1 Year, try maybe 2-3yrs, think next generation system. 2yrs will be close to the launch of the next generation system. Microsoft is shipping development kits now to developers. Start now Bethesda!!!!!

It would never happen, and wouldn't make sense for either Bethesda, Bioware, or Microsoft.

First of all Bioware is trying to increase their TOR subscribers. Letting someone else make a Star Wars RPG would cannibalize their market. Secondly, people dedicated to TOR would not be likely to jump to a KOTOR game, especially considering someone else would be making it.

It's a pipe dream. It may sound good in your head, but game companies are businesses first and foremost.

How about meeting their numbers upon launch, so they are not three years in the hold trying to makeup development cost before reaping the fruits of a mediocre profit. KOTOR, will pay for itself in weeks. If it coincides with the launch of a next generation system.

Do you see the game, they will not make it. It was shot down for Mass Effect and they continue to stay true to that, with no interest.

Because it's already been developed and released. They would be taking people away from TOR.

They already developed KOTOR 3...... It just happened to go from single player to a MMO, but it's the same series. Insteasd of KO TOR, it's just TOR. Do you not realize that?

Do you speak English? I'm confused by your confusion. They have expressed so much interest that they actually made the game already.

Just in case you don't believe me, see for yourself. Do you really think they called it The Old Republic just for the heck of it. Knights of THE OLD REPUBLIC. Get it yet?
