BULL CRAP on the DLC!

Post » Fri Dec 24, 2010 12:28 am

]Finished Fallout Vegas... (took a while with the buggy release)

Have two game saves... Hover Dam (starting final mission) and Legates Camp (end of final mission)

Because i am in the final mission, i am guessing, i can not fast travel anywhere... Therefore unable to got to the Happy Trails Expedition location to use the DLC Honest Hearts!
I finished the last mission again hoping that the game would continue (like the broken steel DLC from Fallout 3... NOPE

I am not willing to start over again from scratch to play the new DLC i paid for, my loss of $9.00, but that's it Bethesda, not a penny more from me.

Bought all the DLC for Fallout 3 and all of the DLC, so far, for New Vegas. My loss because it is one of my favorite game titles, but my experience with this game (all the problems) and
now the fact that i cant play with my original character that i used to beat the game pisses me off.

Bring out a broken steel fix for New Vegas!!!

Hmm... Maybe you should've read the popup that clearly stated "YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO BACK".. Yeah... :disguise:

WILL NEVER HAPPEN

make a save game before entering the final battle.

Anyone who hasn't figured out the game ends when you beat it, or ignores the warning before starting the final mission deserves whatever they get.

Honestly, if you ignored the giant text box telling you that you won't be able to turn back... well, maybe an RPG isn't the best game for you. There's a lot of reading involved.

Makes me wonder how you survive reading forums.

Not gonna happen.

http://www.destructoid.com/fallout-new-vegas-has-a-definitive-end-181927.phtml

That's why they made sure to add that big popup that paused the game and told you to make a save just before passing the "point of no return."

Though I and a couple of others continue to maintain it should have been fullscreen, flashing red text, and had a timer that wouldn't let you click past it and continue for at least 30 seconds. :D

You are in charge of your own save files in this game, it is up to you to be aware of the risks.

It is constantly stated around forums to save often and keep multiple files, so that if the unthinkable happens with a game breaking glitch or in your case not reading/understanding an incredibly important alert before starting the final mission, then you would have the ability to revert back without losing too much time and effort.

There will never be a DLC that allows you to play after the final mission, it has been stated. If you don't plan on starting a new game then you shouldn't buy any new content and should sell your game since there is nothing left to do...

As others have pointed out you're given a message before the Battle of Hoover Dam telling you that you can't go back. This was put in place specifically to allow the game a definite ending (with an explanation of what happened next).

Obsidian has said they have no plans for a Broken Steel type game that continued that game after the end of the main quest. Since the end of the game shows you things that happen next it wouldn't make sense to say "this happens next" and then give you the opportunity to change that.

A new character gives you the opportunity to follow a different path of the main quest, different solutions to side-quests, and a different type of character. I also suspect the DLC are scalable enough that you won't have to level up too much before jumping in to them - it's not like you need to be level 30 to try one of the DLC.

What I find odd about the people who complain about having to start another playthrough is this is a game with four endings. You bought a game with four endings, don't you want to see the other three endings past your first game? Start a new game, go another route. The missions are the same but the story is vastly different

If someone tells you not to drive in the direction of a cliff and fall off, and then you do the exact opposite of what they told you to do, you can't fairly blame them for flying off that cliff in your vehicle.

Pay more attention to the game, and take its side notes seriously-it wasn't a joke, and it was pretty blatantly telling you what was going to happen. It's not as if they worded it in some flowery, vague way like a contractor trying to screw you over with confusing writing. The only people who will have sympathy for you completely ignoring the note are the people who did the same thing themselves, probably.

As much as it svcks that you have to completely start over, it's not going to kill you if you do, and it wouldn't be necessary if you had paid more attention to the game's warnings. =\

i'm surprised you managed to actually finish the game with just 2 saves, you are goign to need a new char, good news is that the DLC HH is actaully good for low lv alts and you should be hable to get some really good items for the rest of the game ;)

I dont understand why they dont just make a patch that u can download to continue if u want and keep all ur
stats. seems to like this would solve all this pointless debate over to continue or not. the patch wouldnt have to
include any missions, just a simple continuation of the game.

I'm thinking the same thing, though the next step would be crying specifically for post-game content.
