Buying Skyrim + Dawnguard = 70 €uro - Bit ridiculous?

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 1:28 am

Come on, 70 €uro for Skyrim + Dawnguard on Steam and you get how much content for those 20 €uro?

70 €uro = 86 $ Dollars
70 €uro = 55 £ Pounds

In other words ..

20 €uro for the Dawnguard is 25 $ Dollars or 16 £ Pounds!

Until they come to their right senses.

They are a buisness, pricing its content in relation to the market. Its clear you dont like paying for the product what with all your threads essentially whinging its "expensive". If its to pricey for you to purchase, svck it up and move on or go earn the money to pay for it. Either way Bethesda is not about to change its pricing model just because you make a thread on the forums.

We the customers will dictate whether or not the pricing needs to change by sales or lack thereof. Not with threads of this ilk.

I'm just glad he's switched over from the no-first-person-vampire-lord kick. It's a refreshing change of redundancy.

Yeah, clearly there are many thousands of people around the world who find these prices acceptable. It is your choice as a consumer to buy or not buy, but you're not going to see a pricedrop on Dawnguard for a while.

The prices vary from country to country anyway. I paid 70€ just for skyrim when it first came out. But like someone else said, if you don't like the prices, you don't have to pay them but I don't expect them to change anytime soon.

Well I have played 2 characters with 220 hours on the first and 260 hours on the second (with only dawnguard on the second). Thats 480 hours to date, and I still have at least two more characters I want to play. When I divide the price by the number of hours played, Skyrim will be the cheapest game I have played and probably will play.

I always use "The Force Unleashed II" as an example. Finished it in 6 hours and it had no replay value. Sure glad I rented that one. When you do the math Skryim is probably one of the cheapest per hour, single player games out there.

Do I think that price is steep? Yes. For most games, it would not be worth it. But Skyrim/Dawnguard is not most games.

To be honest, you don't have to buy it since it's an DLC. Starting a post about the price won't change anything. I bought Dawnguard, I loved it and I think it was worth having. Skyrim is my favorite game because in my games I like to RP a lot. So with mods and extra content, Skyrim was the game for me and I'll keep buying any Skyrim DLC. Everytime I play the game with a new mod or in this case content, I feel like I'm playing a totally new game. The charm of Skyrim at it's best.

Do I think that price is steep? Yes. For most games, it would not be worth it. But Skyrim/Dawnguard is not most games.

As the user above well said. Skyrim really isn't like any other game. You get total freedom on a PC. Wish all games would go on with that path.

No. That's nothing. Especially considering those of us who bought the CE of Skyrim on release day at $150 then when Dawnguard came out dropped another $20 on it.

Now, that's crazy.

Yes, I paid $170 for Skyrim. :)

Until they come to their right senses.

The price is reasonable, go look at other games with DLC and see how poorly thought through your concept is.

Seriously, you just compared a game that came out in 2009 to a DLC that came out last month? You should just stop, you're embarrassing yourself.

Hello Lexandro.

How many times is the OP going to create a thread on the same subject?

See, there's a third option. Start a thread about it on the official forum. Seems to me DLC pricing policy is one of the most sensible reasosns to start off a thread. It is a precise complaint with which one can either disagree or stand by. My take: Dawnguard is overpriced.

Yes there is starting a thread and having the matter discussed in a sensible manner. Then there is being a tard and making multiple threads of the same thing, when the others are still open.

The OP already had a thread in general about DLC prices using CD project's Witcher 2 game as an example. We dont need multiple threads from the same person of the same ilk cluttering the forums. Thats why its against the forum rules to do so.
