Can we all relax about the PS3 version now? Thanks.

There's been gameplay footage available for view online, and upon seeing it, frankly i think the game looks better on PS3. The water is the most realistic ive seen in a video game, hell, even more so than some movies. The graphics are crisp, bright and not all clammy and dank like Fallout 3 GOTY. It's a welcome change. During the entire video i didnt notice one. single. second. of. lagging. If anyone doesnt believe me just go to youtube and do a bit of research. If anything, it does look EXACTLY like the xbox 360 version, except without these rumoured texture problems. There is a tiny, yes, TINY bit of pop-in but it's barely noticeable and not distracting in the slightest. The sound is sharp and not dull or muffled in any way. It really seems like a total clone of the 360 version.

Believe me or not, doesn't matter to me, but this is directed to those who are panicking about the PS3 version being no good because of what's been circulating online lately.

The game works flawlessly from what ive seen so far, and might i add the PS3 used in the video was a FAT OLD 80 GB PS3.

Everyone, breathe. Skyrim is just as incredible on the PS3.

And if you don't believe me, i really couldn't care less. Go look it up on youtube and see it for yourself. I for one am grabbing the PS3 collector's edition and am not regretting it.
Now the only thing left to do is wait for 11/11/11 :ahhh:

What movies, cheaply animated ones or the newer ones, like Up?

lol not cheaply made ones. In my opinion it looks like Pixar did the water or something. It really leaves you breathless after seeing it the first time. They really took their time on this thing, it's crazy! But crazy good.

Its just funny how some Xbox 360 users post anything to make a PS3 version sound bad.. while most of us on the PS3 are very mature and would just like a nice game.

I got skyrim from yesterday, didn't crash, tear, jump, lagged, graphics are crisp, sound is awesome, 6 hours in and the only bug I saw was some character, sliding instead of walking, ONE, out of like two hundred.
Ps3 players, relax, it's all good.

Trust thy Sony.

Strong point it seems every flame war is started by some one saying ps3 svcks or something. I love both systems. Why can't we all?

I've played it for about 10 hours today. I've. Been noticing stuttering while in the citys and during some battles as well. Kind of irritating :\
PS3 version btw.

People seem to forget that through all the rumours and flame wars that it's all about Skyrim and how much we love and support it, not who has the better console. It seems that people seem to have gotten greedy lately, expecting more and more and more from the game. They need to remember; IT'S A GAME. It won't be perfect, but damn close.

It's nice to see fellow players on these forums with common sense, and not flaming. Much appreciated :)

and @Wildface it likely depends on how stuffed your hard drive is combined with how old your system is and how warm it's getting. There's always going to be hiccups; just look at the supposed issues plaguing the 360 version. Only thing you can do really is grit your teeth and bear with it, and maybe clean out your hard drive a bit.

I've got the 320GB model with less than 40 GBs taken up. So no issue there. It's a slim model purchased in 2011. I don't remember noticing as much of it until half wayinto my play session. I felt the ps3 and it felt warm but not hot. Maybe that's it…

See what I did there? Not bashing the ps3 but I see just as many ps3 gamers flaming the xbox as vice versa.

it could be anything, really. But remember that there's a patch coming friday, and it's not like Bethesda is gonna abandon their shiny new baby. Expect more patches in the future which could help with stuttering. I notice that when i play a game on ps3 its kinda laggy and slow for the first day or so but afterwards it's problem-free. Almost as if it's like breaking the game in.

I saw a ps3 video too, likely the same as OP and it did look stunning. It was recorded on an iPhone, but the water still looked incredible. I also did not notice any stuttering in the clip of him wondering the wilderness and climbing mountains.

lol no it wasn't. I put that because people were saying that if you have an older PS3 it would be more problematic to run the game. It shows that even the oldest PS3s can still run the game extremely well if not exactly like their slim counterparts.

I myself have a fat old 80gb ps3 and just love it. Never had a problem with it, save for Fallout NV but that's a whole different story. And it ain't pretty.

And from what ive seen, 99% of posts complaining about the ps3 version are posted by concerned ps3 owners that hope their copy will live up to expectations. which is understandable considering the minimal ps3 information out there for skyrim.

unfortunately thats where the problem lies. Because there's so little trickling out in terms of ps3 info people start to panic and all sorts of rumours start to swirl, and it gets to the point where you don't know what to believe anymore. I have a 360 and ps3 and for the past week have been trying to decide which version i should buy because of all these rumours. I feel PS3 is the better choice though.

well i have a fat old 80gig ps3 and my game has framedrops like hell when i ride my horse; although they started to decrease but now everytime i enter a city it has a super long loading screen and when i move in the city my game laggs like hell. If you don't believe me ( or think I am trolling ) PM me or ask in this topic and I'll pm you a link to the movie I just uploaded about it.

[EDIT!] ABOUT THIS IPHONE VIDEO OF SKYRIM PS3 GAMEPLAY!!!: well I think I just saw the movie you guys are all talking about, but there isno horseriding in it ( that's when the framedrop occurs the most ). [EDIT!

no, i believe you. I know all too well of the long loading times after playing Fallout 3, NV, Oblivion, TDU2 aaaand that travesty which was The Sims 3.
But like i said, there's gonna be a patch friday, and we dont even know what it does yet, and im sure Bethesda's gonna release more patches in the coming weeks/months.
Personally i dont see anything to worry about, both consoles seem to be having their share of minor bugs, which means Bethesda will likely take quick notice if things aren't running smoothly on both consoles.

Hi,

can anyone confirm if that weird texture loading glitch that's been plaguing the 360 version is affecting PS3 too?

Sorry if this has been asked before but there are way too many PS3 topics at the moment. I can't go through all of them.

Thank you.

By the way, PS3 version's looking good!
