Hello, Skyrim General Discussion!
11.11.11

Is it weird of me not being able to sleep at night because of the upcoming release of Skyrim? Never have i been looking forward to a game like i am with this one, and im wondering if anyone else share the same problem? I can lay awake for hours, just thinking of every aspect of it.

I can't wait for the new Construction Kit either, im going to have such a blast.

What are you most excited for?

Yeah, I've been unable to sleep for more than three or four hours for the last few months. Not sure if it's just 'cause Skyrim is coming or what, but it's definitely one of the first things I think of when I wake up lately, directly or indirectly. I've been going on a spending spree to deck out both my rigs for Skyrim and end up tracking each item every incessantly, eagerly waiting their arrival so I can plug more and better stuff in. Haven't felt like this since I was a kid waiting for the next Zelda...

All I am going to say is you guys are setting yourselves up for failure. Nothing is going to live up to that level of expectations. You will find some tiny small flaw with the game that doesn't quite meet your satisfaction and all that built up internal hype is going to come crashing down and the whole game is going to feel like a major disappointment to you.

Blasphemy!

j/k... I've seen enough footage and read enough about it to know I'm not getting hyped over nothing. There might be something to the whole 'finding something that irks me' part, but then there's the CK. It alone will ensure I can get in there and bend the game to my will, so I'm not too worried. I'm just as amped for the editor as I am the game. Candidly, I liked and spent more time with the FNV GECK than FNV itself >_>

I don't have high expectations I'm always like this with new games and it would take an awful lot to make me hate it. Oblivion crashed all the time when I got it and I still played it alot. Only one game I've been this excited for that I hated was Arcania but that was an epic fail of massive proportions.

*doesn't ask* Throughout life, I've always had intermittent bouts with insomnia, but usually the once a week/blue moon variety you mentioned. Once I've got Skyrim, after a 2-3 day playing and modding binge, I'll probably hibernate to make up for lost sleep.
I can sleep like a baby.
In my limited experience, that means for no more than a few hours at a time. Welcome to the club?

I justify my sleep by the more hours I am asleep, the less time I have to wait for Skyrim.

Lol. Two sleepless hours in bed, turn the laptop back on and go on the forums. First thread I see. I love this place.

And yes, am planning my character also.

Not for me. (And probably not for heaps of others too. Dislike assumptive statement.) I love TES. This game, so far, looks better than what I could realistically envision for the next installment of the series. I find your lack of faith disturbing. (End quote, lol).

Snuggles :tes:

Sleep at last.
