I can't stop playing Skyrim!

Post » Mon Jul 30, 2012 9:40 pm

Ditto. I have a couple other games I have bought, they all still have the plastic on them. I've been playing since release and everytime one of my characters has done what he/she set out to do, I either find them something else to do or roll another character that I has something they need to do.

So true! I have at least four still in the plastic!

Assassins Creed - All of them, have been my favourite games so far. But I don't remember playing them since I got Skyrim aswell, just cannot get enough

And Assassins Creed is one of them!

Even tried to play Oblivion for a while last nite - but aside from my critical glitch & not wanting to re-play 30 minutes - I still just kept hearing Skyrim calling...maybe the soundtrack was recorded by Sirens? Maybe it emits an undetectable highly addictive airborn heroin derivitive while you play?

Side question - how do you track your hours? I keep seeing "logged 200 hours" etc...

Hopefully that obsession doesn't turn into an OCD...then again it'd give someone the excuse to play the game under threat of going insane.

I wish I could say the same, but I just can't play it anymore. I've made several characters, made up backstories for all of them and role-played them. There's just something about Skyrim I don't like though, and that's sad.

I was looking forward to Skyrim since late 2008.

I already have so many mental health issues(mainly anxiety problems, asperger's, and ADHD) that I feel like this series is a second home. I hate saying that, but it's true. I'm able to be sure to not play too much since it'd make my problems worse if I let myself have a strong obsession of any kind. >_>

OCD is hard to explain. Just imagine living life being controlled by fear of harm happening to a loved one if you forget to do something a certain way. It's agonizing.

Ok, it means you MUST do _____ or else you feel like you are gonna die or something. Its a really strong need to repeat something.

"Obsessive-compulsive disorder is an anxiety disorder in which people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), or behaviors that make them feel driven to do something (compulsions)"

I was almost diagnosed with Downs Syndrome. (Some swear I have a split personality that may or may not be true.)

I have this thing with numbers. They MUST be even or a multiple of 5. I have a strange math to get numbers to be even or multiple of 5...

My husband used to think I was obsessed... until I showed him some of the pc pic's ( from the screenshot's thread) and you tube video's. Now he just think's i'm nuts :twirl:

I've run into games that I felt that way about and I know they are good if not great games, "I" couldn't really get into them though.

You should. It's a mental condition where people have the need to do certain things a certain way or at certain times in a repetative manner. An example is if someone who has OCD comes across a part of the sidewalk that is made of bricks, they feel the need to count every single brick until every one has been counted. It can be very, very annoying and exhausting. I have OCD and it's no picnic, however with certain things it's great, such as, having to have everything organized and clean, when I work on something, it has to be done the right way and I don't quit until the job is done right. Like I said, it's exhausting and very common.

Depends. I'm on the spectrum where I can control myself. I do have a high IQ, but not everyone with a high IQ has any form of autism. Some just have such a large learning capacity that certain fabrics make them angry.

They thought I had AS. Even though my IQ test was 126 my case is more PTSD than AS.

I have bad anxiety attacks and OCD so Skyrim is like my "escape world"(sad but true as much as it'd be hard to admit).

Skyrim is a good game, but it's not nearly as good as some people make it out to be.

Different strokes for different folks. I love Skyrim. But I understand why every game is not for every person. I really didn't like FO:nv but I know alot of people absolutely love it, as much as I love Skyrim. I couldn't get into it. Played partway through one character thought...hmmm maybe I picked the wrong type and that's why I'm not happy. So I was alot more careful creating and picking how my next would be.... and I kept thinking, that I just had to be doing something wrong cause I just wasn't getting into it at all. I just traded it in on a game for my husband.

It is as good as it's made out to be once you use mods.

I play on x-box so no mods and I still think it's the best game I've played. I've logged about 1,700 hrs plus.

Question for you who play it so much - what exactly do you do? I mean there are only so many interesting quests, do you roleplay lots and do dungeons over and over again? I can't see how I could play for the crazy amount of hours as some people do without mods at least.
